Why I admire Rafael Nadal- From a Federer Fan

You know, how many Federer fans is that now that have made a long post about admiring Nadal? I respect Nadal's accomplishments too, don't get me wrong, but it would be nice if a Nadal fan returned the favour. However, I'm not holding my breath.

As a Nadal fan, I'd admired Federer from the beginning. He used to be the measuring stick for greatness, the unbeatable final boss, the best rival. To be honest, I liked Nadal from the beginning, he was my countryman and had a great attitude, but it was mostly his matches against Fed that made me a fan*, and they both deserve credit for that.

Nadal is a wonderful person, natalia. Being a Fed fan has nothing to do with that.

If they had played in different times, I most likely would have been a Nadal fan, and should Fed retire today, I'll probably root for Nadal.

Nadal (and Nole too) are both great people, nothing wrong in a Fed fan admiring other players.

My point is the number of these threads that have popped up in recent times is ridiculous tbh. 1 is fine. 3 or 4 are unnecessary.

Plus, I can say in 2 sentences basically what the OP said in 2 paragraphs and I already have in this thread. No need to fawn.

So if someone else has made a similar thread you can't make one saying how you feel?.

Other posters can "fawn" if they wish to... maybe they like Nadal better than you do.

I admire him and his grit. I never said I was a fan of his. And you can be fans of both, fans of either, or fans of neither.

This whole thing is getting a bit old now. There are like 3 or 4 different threads on this.

I'll just settle for congratulating Nadal when he does something worthy of congratulations. I've already done that about his mind blowing accomplishments on clay, but I will not be typing him a 20 page love letter equivalent to the OP. That is just the way it is.

And on top of all that, we have another poster who was seemingly a Federer fan for the longest time who thinks that Nadal will be "GOAT" if he wins this Wimbledon even though he'll still be 2 slams short and that's assuming he wins Wimbledon which is a pretty big assumption these days.

Newsflash: Nadal has to AT LEAST tie the slam record to even be considered "better" than Federer.

I only said Nadal has the chance of being GOAT in the future. And thats true. That can be said about any player. A player can emerge 20 years from now that completes the CYGS 4 times! and takes home 30 slams. Who knows?

Is that written into the Constitution some place? I must have missed it. There are all kinds of fans out there. Some only like Federer, some only like Nadal and some like both for different reasons. Don't direct your own insecurities onto other posters, it is unbecoming.

Say it again! I can't stand when posters here want to speak, think, or tell other posters how they feel or should feel about something. Of course you can be a fan of both players.
