groundstroke to go beyond the baseline?

My serve almost never goes beyond the baseline no matter how hard I hit it. However my groundstroke (hitted behind the baseline)goes beyond the baseline on the other side even when it is not hitted that hard. On paper, it should be easier for a serve to go beyond the baseline because it is hitted at a height much higher than a groundstroke so it should travel longer than a groundstroke. However in reality the opposite is true. Why?

Could it be that you are going for an area just inside the service line on a serve? And you are going for an area just inside the baseline on a groundstroke?

If you went for the back fence on a serve, I think your view might be different.

Why would you care? I mean, it's easily possible I could do it right now, but why? Upward trajectory? Lollipop serve?

How many actually tried? Meaning using your regular serve motion and direct a serve to hit directly on fence without any bounce on court.
It is a recommended progression, when trying to isolate building power / mph on serves.
