Why is Sinner still playing with Speed 2022 paintjob…

He wont until he hits a bad streak, which doesnt seem very likely now haha
He could be waiting for the sticks to deform/go dead.
I can see him switching after Wimbledon. Some of these RACKETS for pros last 6-9 months. I think it was fed that go a new batch every 6-9 months.

Is there a way to know for sure those are the same sticks? Couldn't it be new sticks with old PJ?
Im assuming Rafa is not using his old sticks, just new sticks with the old PJ, for example...

Honestly idk.
I’ll be honest too. I can’t tell the difference without a side by side photo of the 2022 v 2024 paint job either.

amazing that djoko can switch entire shoe brands and racquet brands in the middle of his career with peak big3 and still pick up 24 schlems no problem meanwhile these next gen win one measly title in the weakera and get superstitious lmao
Djokovic skipped the whole 360+ PJ.
Not necessarily superstition, though: there’s the whole “white racquets are distracting” theory

Hahahah I wonder how long we will update this... until the next speed model?
It’ll be hilarious if Sinner never dawns the 2024 paint job.
Unsure of his contractual terms are but basically shows head did zero collaboration on cosmetics with the guy who’s face is on the cardboard cutout for the speed line.

As a Sinner and Muchova fan… this makes for a dilemma. I’m in the market for a new racquet (last purchase was a Wilson BLX racquet), and I I’ve only demoed the Speed Legend MP and 2022 Speed Pro, and I prefer Speed Legend MP wholeheartedly. But if the 2022 Speed MP has a lower swingweight, I feel like I might like it more?

I personally like the look of the 2022 MP over the 2024. It’s a plus that both Sinner and Muchova are using this paint job right now. But I can’t demo the 2022 MP anymore unless I find a local club that still has it for demo… but in the time it takes for me to find a club that has it and demo it, maybe it’s won’t be on sale anymore or out of stock.

So do I just go for the 2022, or try to demo the 2024 Speed MP? I understand 2024 MP is almost exactly the same as Legend MP, but the glossy vs matte paint is making me want to demo the 2024. I felt the MP lacked a bit of feel and I don’t know how much the 2024 would make a difference. Hard to tell from internet comments comparing the Legend MP and 2024 MP.

It just also would be ironic if I did end up getting the 2022 MP and then Sinner and Muchova switched to the 2024 MP shortly after.

Sinner plays with a Graphene Touch Speed MP.
Muchova plays with a 360 Speed MP.

Then you're in luck because the 2022 Speed MP is on sale right now.
Thanks, yeah, I know… but the issue is I’m not able to demo that racquet because all the major online retailers that have demo programs are only carrying the 2024s and Legends.

Demo the 2024 Speed MP and if you like it and are okay with the higher swingweight then just stick with that (or the legend) or if you like it but feel the swingweight is a little on the high side you will probably like the 2022. They are the same mold and the only difference is Auxetic 2 and the swingweight.

Gotcha, thanks.

given his current results, they might as well just re-release the old paint and put his signature on the racquet for a limited release that offers no value to customers but makes them a lotta money.

If I were to guess, they might already have plans for a Sinner-specific edition of the Speed MP, but are waiting for the WADA situation to clear

Most people can't tell different versions of the same racquet in blind test if the weight and swing weight are similar. I bet head will lower SW on speed mp in next iteration. I hit weighted up gravity pro and don't understand the high swing weight in 2024 smp. Speed MP has a big share among players who is looking for lower specs, large sweet spot and soft frame.

Dude the person I responded too stated this “but also to support workers that are treated decently. Just my personal thing.” Just letting that person know that Yonex does use what they consider workers treated poorly. I see this same stuff on guitar forums. Folks saying they won’t use guitars made in China because of how they treat workers. Usually they are posting it from a phone, tablet or computer made in china.
Sorry, I missed this before.

Obviously avoiding products made by cheap, poorly treated labor is nearly impossible in 2024. As you implied, good luck finding electronics that aren't made in China. That said, when I do have a choice and some control, I try to make my own decisions as guilt free as possible. Things like bicycles and bicycle parts, some clothing, some home goods...

Yes, Yonex makes some of their lower level stuff in China, but the racquets I buy are made in Japan. And that is part of my purchasing decision.
