Why no country name on the back of Federer's Davis Cup shirt?

Does his Nike contract stipulate that he wear no writing or logo besides those of Nike?

I was watching Davis Cup. Everyone looks to have the name of his country on the back of his shirt except Federer.

Come to think of it, I have seen many Mercedes Benz logos on tennis pros' shirts but Fed, who is probably the only tennis player to be featured in Mercedes' TV ads does not wear its logo.

Anyone know for sure why?

Federer had the flag on his shirt. This particular for me is sufficient for representing his nation. But i don't accept the fact he had his logo on the shirt.

Because Nike doesn't want to. With the notable exception of Li Na who was allowed to display her sponsors, Nike generally forbids its players to display sponsors on their apparel.

The reason might be that he just didn't have any shirts with "Suisse" on the back

Would it be better if he had it stapled to one of his shirts like Rosol did?

Surely, that could have been easily fixed with an imprint or something more sophisticated. Stan had a "Suisse" shirt. It must be sponsorship related.

Edit: Roger with a "Suisse" shirt in a post match event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFV7FIHIRWQ

I believe I saw another player of another team playing without the country name. Either a french player, or maybe one of the Czech players in the semis. I think it was in a doubles match.

Federer also didn't have any of his "team" logos during the IPTL. Monfils and Ivanovic donned the (kind of hideous) orange team jackets.
