Why not, let's pay attention to Challengers too...

The challenger tour has never been so interesting.
Waiting for Karue Sell to heal and come back to see some matchups of him against ex-top players.

Stan fends off a break point to reach 6-5, Coric serving to reach the tiebreak. Decent match this.

Coric reaches the tiebreak, and the gods cry (it started to rain). Let's see if Osaka is still playing.

Fresh clay being tossed on the court, looks like they're considering starting again in the coming hour.

Borna serving for the 2nd set at 5-3. Looks like we're going three.

Edit: seals it with an ace, 6-3. Stan to start the final set.

Love watching Karue play well, but who's this Mayo guy? Not only does he have a horrendous grunt, but he's one of those Americans that shouts "ALLEZ!" unironically (does so at least 3 times in the video above) despite not having any French background or parents so far as I can tell. Its bad enough when us Merican bumpkins start shouting Vamos, especially those who say it with a very hard 'B', but Allez??? That's a hard 'No.'

Meh I don’t see the problem. Many non-English players also shout ‘come on!’, I as a Dutchy use ‘ciao’ to say goodbye, I think it’s all fine. (Though I will say that if they use a foreign term, they should use and pronounce it the right way…)

I'd just like to draw attention to a bizarre name matchup that happened yesterday at Sioux Falls Challenger. We had a Dan Martin vs Martin Damm. situation, when said aloud they almost sound like reverses of each other. And the scoreboard just says Martin Damm lol.
thanks for raising our attention on this information of paramount importance (i love it!):
that should definitely deserve the headlines over the saudi hold-up! :D

Two players in the AO qually draw ended up losing in Melbourne but winning back to back Challengers elsewhere, both from more obscure tennis nations:

Adolfo Daniel Vallejo lost in Q3 but went on to win both the Itajai and Concepcion Challengers gaining 42 ranking spots to #104 in the world. Representing Paraguay, he has the opportunity to be the first in his country to break into the top 100 since Ramon Delgado left it in late 2005.

Chris Rodesch lost in Q2 but won both Oeiras 1 and Oeiras 2 gaining 71 ranking spots to #138 in the world. Representing Luxembourg, he could be the first in his country since Gilles Müller left in July of 2018.
