Why players fail to bring their best tennis during USO?

I see a lot of threads trying to diminish Djokovic's year. He was literally one match from winning CYGS, and I think people don't seem to care about it, because their fav players didn't compete in this edition. I don't really care about that, but something occurred to me. I can't really think of one really strong USO in last decade (not entertaining, or competitive, but one in which 3,4 top players brought their best game to tournament). This year I think only Med checks the mark, last year literally not a soul, and this stretches all the way to 2009/2011. In your opinion, quality wise, which USO was the best one, or to change narrative, best GS tournament of each(AO,RG,W and USO)?

The best players of this era are old AF, by the time the USO rolls around the season has taken it's toll.
