Why the Pure Drive is better than APD

Basically, it comes down to three shots--the big hard flat serve, the big flat forehands and flat backhand. Perhaps the APD is slghtly better at hitting more excessive topspin, but you can hit plenty with the PD. And you can't hit those booming flat shots with the APD. The PD just feels more solid.

i agree...imo, i think anyone w/ a western grip (or even a semi) should use an APD because you need to brush up on the ball. But for flat shots, PD is better because the beam is pretty aerodynamic as well and it wont drag as much at the throat as the APD because the APD throat is flat

Well yeah.. I think everyone knows that you get more power with the PD, and more spin with the APD... So I guess it's each person's perference as to if they want more power or more spin with a racquet... Obviously you like having more power.
