Why was Isner Anderson semi scheduled first?

Ok everything is easy in hindsight, but here goes.

Everybody wanted to watch the Nadal Djokovic match.

Isner and Anderson are big servers and a long match was possible.

They could have scheduled Nadal Djokovic first. If it was taking too long, they could have offered Isner Anderson a move to another court.

Isner Anderson was the top half of the draw. Is that why it went first? Did they have to do that?

The idea was that the big marquee match would be saved for late afternoon, when people had come home from work and there would be more people watching, so get the Isner vs. Anderson match over before 5pm and people would be ready for Nadal vs. Djokovic. Of course, with Isner involved in the first semi and his genius for getting embroiled in the longest matches in history, that wasn't the wisest course of action from the All England Club. They didn't think it through properly. Unfortunately, Nadal's Wimbledon chances took a sharp downward turn as a result, meaning an indoor match starting after 8pm instead of a late afternoon match in the sun, and then Wimbledon's policy of both players having to agree to open the roof the next day or it stays closed. Djokovic would have been crazy to agree to open the roof, so it stayed closed.

In 1999 Sampras Henman SF was played on Center while Agassi Rafter SF was played on Court One at the same time. but rain washed out play on Friday so this was a Saturday schedule.

I don't know but it sucks. Isner sucking so bad cost rafa his 18th slam and last chance to win wimbledon.

Things people have said already.

Both matches turned out very memorable for different reasons. Great Wimbledon despite Fed loss. Things work out for the best in the end which is cliché yet usually true. Im looking more forward to it than last year already I guess because he didn't win Wimbledon. Fresh start and a new day with new possibilities plus a sense of relief thanks to Djokovic. Only regret is no Fedal or Fedovic match, but its all good with the way it turned out.

No need to change the rules. Just don't put Isner matches on first in slams since there is a possibility an accident might occur.

The obvious reason was that half the fans would've probably left after the Nadal match was finished, and Isner Anderson would've been an even damper squid of a match.
