Why would some people turn on the shower and then leave it?

I understand you want the right temperature, but it doesn't take long for me to mix the hot and cold water to get the right temperature, probably less than 30 seconds.

The one I saw in the movie, these people just leave the shower running for a long time, I mean they turn the shower on and then they are still fully dressed, doing something else while the shower is running.

They're wasting water.

How long do you guys have to wait till the water get hot? Over here it doesn't take long at all.
Some systems require more than 5 minutes of running water to reach OBT.

OBT: optimal bathing temperature.

One of my clients who is 88 has 3 minute cold showers in winter, it’s crazy and possibly detrimental for an 88 year old, but others may have a different view. Anyway his rationale for doing this is that by being used to the cold water he will have less need to turn the heater on because he has toughened himself up, thereby saving on his electricity bill.
At the same time in summer when it’s 42 degrees Celsius he won’t use air conditioning and he doesn’t even have one.
Your client is very cheap. His heirs must be so happy about what's he leaving.

That's quite risky, isn't it?
The odds of reaching 150 years couldn't be very high. Or do most of them cross 150 easily?

It is mind-boggling that Greenland Sharks live for 400 years. Longest living vertebrates. Far outliving humans.
What does this tell us about the creator of the universe?

They also are born after a gestation period of 8 to 18 years!
Usually ten pups at a time. A mother could have 700 pups in her lifetime.!!

They live in the deep, cold water. Not much to bother them there, and they're huge.
Don't they prey on each other.? I once read that inside the female shark's body, her pups are cannibalistic.

Given the numbers being produced, I'd think few make it to adulthood.

It doesn't take long to get the water hot. For me it takes 10 seconds or less. What I don't understand is, in those movies people leave the shower on about 1 minute or more while they were still fully dressed doing something.
Usually it is the time for the director to show the female slowly undressing. The shower is just an excuse.

I think he prefers when it naturally rains on him or his luxury car. I think you know him quite intimately.
LOL Kia Soul is about as unluxury as you can get. And that is not even comparing with the Bentleys of the Maharajah of the Lower and Upper Dehli Kejriwal Provinces

The director is a wise man.
Yeah. Why do you think they devote so much time to show a woman coming back from work, all tired, and then having a luxurious bath? Note that the horror guy or ghost also allows enough delay to show all the undressing before making weird sounds and then showing up with a mutilated face. Even ghosts cooperate with the director.

Kejriwal province is now ED custody (not the kind that makes you giggle everytime).

Is it like the Seltos or Carens. That's what we have here.

I thought you had a Kia Carnival Limousine.
No it is the only remaining car model which is box shaped. It has the higher driver vantage point similar to a SUV but still a small car. It is also a hatchback with plenty of cargo space (I always carry tennis, Pickleball, table tennis and badminton gear with me). It is compact and I had gotten fed up with my previous large Honda Accord due to the parking situation here.

Why would some people turn on the shower and then leave it?

When I was going to the gym, there was a trend to leave the showers running when you were done. They didn't leave them full on, but they left them running much more than a drip. They were still very much running. I was at 3 different gyms over the course of 10 years and every gym was the same. People leaving the shower running when they were done.

So one day it's just me and this other middle aged guy. We are both in the shower. He finishes and leaves his shower running. We happened to have lockers near each other.

So I asked him "why did you leave your shower running"?
"Huh"?
"Your shower. It's still running. You can hear it. Why didn't you turn it off"?
He said, "I don't know, I must have forgotten to turn it off".
I said, "well, as strange as that would be, you didn't forget. You turned it off part way. Why didn't you turn it all the way off"?
He (predictably) got angry and said "I don't know, I guess I'm just not as perfect as you. I make mistakes sometimes"

I thought this was odd. He could have said that he knew he left it on. He did it on purpose for some specific reason. But he didn't. And yet, he clearly left it running on purpose. So at this point, I thought I'd have some more fun.

I asked, "Do you leave your shower running in your house? Do you sometimes "forget" to turn your shower or your water off? If I go to your house is your water running?"
He said, "I have kids, so maybe they left it on, I don't know".
I said, "And if they did, do you turn it off, or just leave it running?"
He says, "I don't know, just shut up"
I then said, "But we aren't talking about your kids. Your kids aren't here, they didn't leave this shower in the gym running. Why did you leave it running"?
He says, "Just shut up".

And that's pretty much the way it ended. I walked over and shut his shower off. He looked really annoyed that I did that.

Anyway, has anyone else seen this in the gym? People leaving the showers running (on purpose)? If so, does anyone know what the point of it is? It just seems bizarre to me, but I when I went to the gym, it happened every single time without fail.

Sometimes when I use public toilets, I notice that some people don't flush after urinating. Once I even saw someone didn't flush after doing number two. I wonder if they just want to make other people angry or they're just lazy, or afraid of touching the flush button or what? Maybe they want to save water? But we don't have extreme drought here where I live.

People are strange...just when you thought you've seen everything, something else comes along. How a person leaves the bathroom/toilet for the next person tells a lot about their character.

Whenever I go into the locker room there is always some gross guy shamelessly walking around naked with a towel over his neck, with a blow dryer
in his hand.

Knock it off Bart!

Was it a blow dryer or a leave blower? Important to establish voltage and intent and water pressure. What was the color of said towel? We have a case here, might even be an X file.

Who was that woman in your avatar?
A recent picture of myself, because the neutralfan guy insisted that I am a 70 year old male pervert putting a picture of an under age girl as my avatar (Vermeer's Girl with the pearl ear ring). I got tired of his bullying and just posted a picture of myself.

I have never ever seen this not even the first time. Not doubting you, but just an observation, Perhaps mad at the gym for charging so much so they are going to waste hot water on purpose? That's all I could think of....
