Why would this stringer do this? (Pics attached)

It seems to me like he tied off the mains and the crosses on the same string and with only one knot. Or am i seeing this wrong? What do ya’ll see?

I bought this racquet on the bay but it has a sticker on it that says “MRT”. So i assume whoever did this knows what he is doing. Why would he string it this way?

I"ve seen some old time stringers slip a short piece between the knot and the grommet hole in order that the knot doesn't slip into the grommet hole...not a big deal.

I inspected it closer and it seems thats what he did. Thx.

And thx to all for the replies. Much appreciated.

The knot would look neater if he used a parnelll knot, pull the tail up to keep it tight and up against the frame.

Sure it would look neater but if the original objective was to create a dead man’s knot his method is quick and easy.
