Why's Nadal playing all these grass tournaments?

Nadal makes so many people so mad  literally ANY match he wins is too much for these guys.

They want him to be over totally finished as a player. Their biggest nightmare is Nadal finding form again. İf that happens ı would like to see some people faces.:)

Don't forget he also wants to qualify for the WTF; by playing more tournaments, he increases his chances of doing that.

He's already within the qualification limit for WTF at #8 and when he wins tomorrow he'll go ahead of Nishikori into #7. If Rafa stays healthy and can play the rest of the year he'll qualify easily.

Do you understand how the seeding system works? If you're seeded 2nd, and you lose in the 4th round, your result was NOT average(let alone the ranking of his opponent).

Lol, whatever. I can't be bothered to argue what is an average slam result.

It's quite hilarious really :)

Yep, his aims for the rest of the year are surely higher than qualifying for the WTF.

I seriously think it's about time Nadal adapted his game to compensate for the talents he lost with age. On clay now he can't outrun Djokovic or outgrind even Murray, so why bother grinding harder? With Nadal's strength and stroke mechanics however he's still perfectly capable of hitting the ball damn hard if he wants to--and he should really be opting that path if he's looking for any type of rejuvenation.

$$$$$$

2MM appearance fee. He has to cash in as much as possible. I think any player would take that if they had two bum knees

Cite your source $2m for playing in Stuttgart? What does Federer get in Halle? I assume $3M as he has a more pleasing style.

"Whatever" is the refuge of a sullen teenager, and/or somebody who has no reply to having been proven dead wrong and has finally realized it.

I agree since 2013 he's been more impressive on hardcourt than clay because he can hit through his opponents.
Grass too was impressive last year when he made 4th round and played very well in the Kyrgios match (44 winners, 18 unforced errors).
I think he would have beaten Raonic (QF) and Federer (SF) if he beat Kyrgios.

Nope, Novak has admitted that losing the FO has put him in a depression in the past. There is no way that tournament is not his biggest goal at this point and to suggest otherwise is selling his competitive desire short. Novak wants the one big tournament he's never won. How many times does he need to cry after losing it before you believe it's him and not the media?

This.

It's the answer of someone not willing to waste more time arguing with a bitter hater about something completely inconsequential...

strawman - I'm not bitter at all, just amazed at your gullibility.

Please google effectiveness of stem cell in curing degenerative tissue and come back.

Thanks for playing.

Yeah, yeah, lots of treatments not much accepted overall by the medical establishment. Same thing with the PRP treatment, which nontheless many players use.

He hasn't had knee problem since coming back in 2013, and was awesome in 2014 Wimbledon (made 4th round and hit 44 winners and 18 unforced errors vs Kyrgios).

That's not true. He has said a number of times that even though he won so much in 2013 he was still in a lot of pain and his knee was still giving him a lot of trouble. It was after the 2013 season was over and he had a different treatment on his knee that it finally seems to have been resolved although his knees will never be completely great. Unfortunately, very early in 2014 it was his back that went out and gave him grief for the whole year. Fortunately, this year in 2015, he's as healthy as he's been in a long while and once he gets his confidence back, we will hopefully see the Rafa of old. ;)

<<One could argue that virtually everything said on a tennis forum is "inconsequential," but, in any event, YOU'RE the one you made a completely ridiculous statement, I pointed it out, and you have no answer, which is why you're trying to appear unconcerned: The 2nd ranked player, losing in round 4 of a 7 round tournament to a guy ranked 100 and something, an "average" result(and throwing in avenging a loss to the immortal Rosol to "buttress" your argument)? That claim speaks for itself, lol.>>

Wow, you're on a roll on multiple subjects, aren't you?:roll:

Nadal needs as much match time as possible heading into Wimby. he took a six month break after RG14 don't forget!

Vamos Rafa!

One down...two to go. I'm telling you, the sweep is on!

It would be worth it to play in the Mercedes Cup to win that car.
After winning it it was funny when he said, It isn't a Kia but it's still pretty good.

From Rafa's press conference:
¤¤ “It’s a great car. It’s an extra value for the players getting such a beautiful car. Nonetheless, I have KIA in my heart. They have sponsored me since I am 17-years-old and we will have five more wonderful years,” Nadal told with a smile and added. “I also need to change the colour. That is too much for me,” he laughed. ¤¤

What a fantastic investments from KIA who spotted the talent at the right time.

Someone inside KIA must know a thing or two about tennis :)

Yes, that sounds like it. First year he wouldn't qualify for the WTF would be a massive hit to his career. In addition to possibly costing him endorsement bonuses / incentives.

How's it going Chanwan? I have to say I really miss the conversations you used to have with Sweetie pie!
Don't mention the war! ;-) (seriously, I'm not allowed to call her that due to her fellow VB-brigade sisters complaining).

Good, good. Am looking forward to the grass season and got time to play a good amount of tennis for the next couple of weeks as well. What's not to like?

But now I gotta catch some sleep.

You?
