Wickmayer signs with Donnay

I read on the "ticker" on tennis dot com that "Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer has signed a deal with Donnay racquets".

Can anybody clarify this for me? I thought Donnay was not a racquet making company anymore... Isn't the Donnay racquet a product of Tennis Warehouse now?

Dunlop and Donnay are both owned by the same parent company Sports Direct.
Donnay was the first Group Brand acquired by the Group in 1996. The Group owns the worldwide rights to the brand. Donnay is best known for tennis products. With the acquisition of the Dunlop and Slazenger brands, Donnay is likely to be utilised for entry-level tennis apparel and equipment, an area where Donnay has had some success in the past, as well as travel, leisure and fitness (including bags and accessories), golf and footwear.

Belgian player with a Belgian brand.

I wonder if we'll start to see Donnay's appear back in the stores.

Wickmayer had a sexy black Donnay thermal bag slung over her shoulder at IW this weekend. Matched the paint on her racquet, with similar color accents.

Any other players sign with donnay? Anyone see their rackets?

From sportsbusinessdaily.com:

"Donnay as a brand has essentially been collecting dust, said Wickmayer’s agent Olivier van Lindnock of IMG. But corporate parent Dunlop wants to resuscitate it and the Wickmayer signing is the first step, he said. He declined to disclose terms other than to say it is a very good deal for his client. As a Donnay brand ambassador, Wickmayer joins an array of tennis icons to have played with the racket including Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg and Andre Agassi. To celebrate Donnay’s centennial anniversary, Wickmayer will use a specially designed black and gold racket featuring the 100 year logo and a Belgian flag to mark the birthplace of the racket."

Wickmayer's doing a photoshoot for Dunlop on Tuesday. Looking forward to definitive pics--and news--about her new Donnay.

Saw her with a black and gold donnay bag in Miami,
Can you actually buy this stuff?
Dunlop has done such a poor job marketing in the USA.
I assume it will be a long time before we see any Donnays state side.

Is Wickmayer still with Donnay? It looked like she had a blacked out frame in Rome today, beating Ana Ivanovic.

She is still sponsored as she is still carrying the bag, but her blacked our racquet clearly had a green dunlop butt cap on it.

It's not secret she's (still) playing with a Dunlop 500 (Tour or non-Tour?) underneath the paint, but I was wondering why she isn't just using a Donnay paintjob?

It was on TV at the Itialian Open. I belive she lost that match so, you can try getting some of the picks or wait for the French.
I am sure if she is using the blacked out model now you will not see a donnay in her hand again.
