Wilander "Alcaraz has the best forehand of all time"

"He has the best forehand of all timeme," he assured to Eurosport. "He has a lot of options: he can go inside-out, inside-out, drop and also both ways. And he can do it like Rafa Nadal does. You have to stay away from his forehand or you will have a very long day"

I love Alcaraz but at the moment i disagree, depending on the conditions and oponents his forehand can be dismantled, yes when he is inside the court he can blast winners easily, but when moving there are some spots where he isnt as consistent as other forehands in this conversation, still for his age It could end Up as the best.

Indeed. His has the potential to be in that conversation but for now this is just fuel for those looking to dump on the kid.

Wilander is actually worse than Kyrgios when it comes to attention seeking
His job, as has already been said repeatedly, is to "sell" that what is current is much better than the past and attract the largest possible audience to generate revenue for his sport news network each year.
Wilander does his job very well.

It's too much. Every time he opens his mouth, he has to say something sensational. Yikes.

Will he be the one to be Australian Open champion this week?

novak and sinner getting most of the hype, and with their recent quality of play, deservedly so...but i think some people have forgotten what a great competitor alcaraz can be. great game of course, but on top of that...speed kills, and he's got absolutely world-class wheels/defense. counts for a lot.

He isn't wrong, but...just on Mats switching and flipping over the years, he will probably change that in a few months.

Nobody's going to beat Carlos at the AO this year or any other year unless injury takes him down.
He's much more suited to the AO than to Wimbledon... though he'll get better at Wimbledon with experience and win it a lot easier than 2023.

That is a logical fallacy (wrong argument) known as argument from authority, which consists in asserting that something is true only because an authority on a topic said it.

Authorities' opinions must be heard and pondered, but authorities can be wrong like everyone else.
I was joking.

Too bad the greatest FH of all time sprays a bunch of unforced errors not too infrequently. If you watch Alcaraz’s losses, it is usually when his FH is having a bad day and is erratic. That prevents it from being as good as a Big 3 FH, but he has time to get there.

Wilander has the best player evaluation of all time. He has lots of options. He's versatile. He can talk out his arse, say the unthinkable, or simply conjure things up out of thin air. He can do it like Kyrgios does. You have to stay away from Wilander's evaluations, or you will have a very long day.
