Wilander questions future wildcards for Andy Murray

He deserves all the wildcards he can get as long as I find him more interesting to watch than the average wildcard recipient who will most probably be eliminated in R1 anyway.

I would have rather seen what Lorenzo Musetti could have done after his Rome showing and recent Challenger win. Or Thiago Seyboth Wild or Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, who were both regulated to the qualifier draw and lost. Wild is actually currently ranked 106 and would have gotten directly in if his ranking was that high at the time of the cutoff.

If those young players are really good, we will sure have many opportunities to watch them in the future.
Not the same may happen with Murray.

True. I'm glad that Murray's 2nd hip surgery was successful and he was able to make it as far back as he has. But his best is well behind him and his days on tour are unfortunately numbered.
