Will 2014 be the most interesting tennis year since a long time?

What do you guys think? To me it looks like a very promising season, maybe even very interesting years to come? Let's see:
  • We have the first new GS winner in years, who is not part of the (old) big 4 - let's see what Wawrinka will still be able to do this year, once he finds back to his Melbourne form. Or will we even get another new GS winner - I would not be surprised.
  • The two D'ovs seem to be finally making their moves - both Dimi and Dolgo have started off the season with very strong performances and good results.
  • Berdych and Isner, two really big guys are pushing hard as well, following up on their strong serves
  • Nishikori looks quite solid as well - positive effects of his collaboration with Chang?
  • Rafa and Novak are still strong but, but maybe not as consistently strong as in previous years?
  • Murray is a bit of a question mark after his back surgery, but seems to be finding back to form as well
  • Roger Federer seems to have found his new weapon, more topspin off the backhand wing with it, stable back and self confidence and with the Edberg factor, who knows maybe he can achieve more than a couple of upsets?

I am sure, more could be added to the list, but I am looking forward to exciting tennis times!

:) And thanks for keeping this thread clean of love and hate posts for one player - we have enough of that!

Great start to the year so far.

Good to see someone else win a major.

Good to see some of the younger players doing well.

(Although it's sad that it's come to the point where we think of a player like Dog as 'young', when he is already almost 26.)

Yes, add a poll please.

This year has been pretty cool so far. Right now Fed is at #4, Isner at #9, Raonic at #10, Ferrer at #5 and dropping. All we need now is Dimitrov, Nishikori, and Dolg in there and that would be great.

It's going to be awesome when we finally see a player younger than 25 winning a slam, maybe this year? A certain Swiss over 30 winning one would be great too. I'm tired of the same guys, I want some new stuff.

Only thing that sucks about this year is Delpo being injured :(. Imagine if he was in the mix and still in-form during all of this? Would be amazing.

Monfils for FO 2014?

Ok, too far.

Would love for this to happen. But who could possibly do that? Players under 25 currently in top 30: Raonic, Dimitrov, Janowicz, Nishikori, Pospisil. Not holding my breath.

What everyone thought will be a bad year for tennis is doing a 180 degree.

Now if a Soderling'ze can happen , then it would be complete.

Bolded is your answer.

I also feel as though there might be some 15-17 year old somewhere right now who will be great, you never know. Dimitrov has the tools atm.

I like Dimitrov, but he's not winning a major in 2014, and even in 2015 I give maybe a 10% chance of him winning a major.

It will be like 2010. A swiss guy wins the AO and the same player wins the remaining 3 slams but replace Nadal in 2010 with Djokovic in 2014.
