It certainly brought up a lot of controversy and heated debates. Will the ITF rule in favour of Djokovic or Murray?

Highlights:
==========
Murray 9 tournaments won (including Wimbledon, WTF, Olympics and 3 Masters 1000) + 4 runner-ups (Australian Open, French Open and 2 Masters 1000)

Djokovic 7 tournaments won (including Australian Open, French Open and 4 Masters 1000) + 3 runner-ups (US Open, WTF and 1 Masters 1000)

Nah I think it'll be Andy.
In terms of overall achievements this year:

Murray:
9 titles, 13 finals.
24 match winning streak to finish the year. (impressive)
1 slam title, 3 straight slam finals and a slam QF
Olympic Gold (no points awarded)
3 Masters titles
3 ATP500
Year end Championships
YE #1

Novak:
7 titles, 10 finals
2 slams, 3R and a slam final.
4 Masters
1 ATP250

Novak may have an extra slam and an extra Masters but I think the 3R of Wimbledon, nothing at the Olympics and no YEC will hold him back and therefore Andy will get it.

Question would be interesting had it not been an Olympic year. It was, and Murray won gold, which is a huge thing considering the rest is pretty close.

I think it'll be Novak, because the ITF YE#1 is based on slam and Davis Cup points, hence how Novak won it in 2013. I think it'll be the same this year.

I still think Andy would win by virtue of defeating Novak in the final yesterday. To me that really seals the deal. With the #1 ranking on the line, both guys coming in with no real injuries to report, that was the match that determined player of the year, imo.

Djokovic 10.800 points

Murray 10.100 points

from tier 1 tournamnets' finals.

Murray won 1500 points from 500 and below tournaments while Djokovic won only 340 - hence the YE#1 lead

Any news on this front. Has the ITF announced its Year End Number 1? Will it cause controversy like what happened in 2013?
