Will Andrey Rublev win a M1000 this year?

Will he?

I think he did play good tennis in WTF. If he is able to bring that sort of tennis where he beat Medvedev and Tsitsi I see him winning at least one masters. Also he is a very likeable player so I am bit biased at this point.
Only person in world of eye test talked with lot of sense, in yec his form against Med and Tsits was good

He wasn’t better than Sinner at the time. Despite Sinner having the lower ranking he was already better than Rublev. Now the gap has widened immensely
As much as I was backing Sinner, Sinner laid egg once again, very weak mentally

Yeah he’s definitely not getting his hands on a M1000. Those TC commentators are either really nice or their smoking some damn good pot

Next 3 masters he has little chance. His linear shots, I don't know how they worked on clay before. But a good clay courter can definitely outlast his brainless ball bashing.
I see him not as threatening even on hard courts, forget slower clay. But on hard courts he has better chances.
He won't be the worst masters winner in recent memory. That would be Jack Sock. But he would be not much better than Isner Hurkacz and Fritz.

No. Charlie and Sinner are getting better. There’s no room for the boy bander.

Oops. lol

Yeah but that was a fourth round and Rune doesn’t have that much experience. Rune will be better by the end of the year though

It now appears that Rune has a matchup difficulty against Rublo.

This year? It's going to be very very tough. The thing with Rublev is that he is his own worst enemy, and at times out there he will implode on the most minor of things. I understand he is working more on that aspect of his game and he is trying to be positive, stating all the stuff off court has been heading in the right direction...but he still needs to make the on court stuff head that way too. As it stands, there is a not single masters that I think I can put him in the top 4 or 5 if everyone is playing.

So happy to be proved wrong! He deserved it!!!

"The future is in good hands". :-D. Thats what people are saying here. Not when a guy who wouldn't win more than a game against Nole/Nadal at MC just won it and beat one of the supposed "New Big3" guys

Glad he finally got one. It's been weird that a consistent top 5-10 player like him didn't have one, while guys like PCB, Coric and even his compatriot Khachanov had all found a way to break through.
To be fair Khachanov win was very well deserved win, he took out top players unlike PCB and Coric where top players either were injured or not performing or playing

Depending against whom he plays the final. Ruud? Zverev? Medvedev? Tsitsipas? Alcaraz?
Who knows?
The tormented soul of the Muscovite has been able to overcome his deepest fears and has regained joy by defeating another disturbed character: The Prince of Denmark.
BWEH!
:)

It was in the moment, but the following 5 years made it seem like a real fluke in retrospect. Rublev's been the better player since then, so it was probably annoying to him.

Well the guy who potentially may have beaten Rafa nadal in his last match at Monte carlo deserves to be the champion there atleast once

He beat Nadal at Monte Carlo in 2021 you donut. But I guess you wouldn’t know because you’re too busy being negative all the time and bashing other players while meatriding a handful of the best ever. Brave. Meanwhile you would probably lose to Srsh on court.

And I still feel it was a better win than Ferrer's.
Ferrer deserved one too, to be fair. I don’t normally see a player as deserving of a title or otherwise but there are a few exceptions.

It’s a shame not everyone who got close got there in the end, eg Roddick at Wimbledon, Murray at the AO (probably), Federer for a second RG. Nadal at AO would’ve been there if not for 2022, so for him it’s Nadal in Miami or even the ATPF seeing as how he’s made two finals losing to the two best ever indoor players, while relative chumps like Dimitrov and Tsitsipas somehow have one.

Yes he did, love U Rublev
I have to say reading through all the posts in this thread was a humorous combo of head shaking, forehead slapping and quoting the really good ones to my wife.

Someone please start another similar one for every big tournament.

I was really happy for him yesterday. It's always good to see one of the nice guys on tour break through.
