Will Djokovic go for 100 Wins for each slam?

By going to current stats:

- Australian Open (94 wins)
- French Open (96 wins)
- Wimbledon (97 wins)
- US Open (90 wins)

For AO, FO and Wimby, he has the chance to complete it in 2025, for US Open he need to win at least 3 more matches to complete it in 2025.

Thoughts?

Depends on how well he does this year right now at the USO, if he wins it (that's 5 more match wins), then i'll say it's extremely likely, if not depending on which stage he'll lose then it's less likely and very unlikely if he loses before reaching quarters, i don't think he'll miss on the 100 at other 3 slams though...

Its inevitable. He is going to play for 2/3 more years. Easily.

You think so? I dunno...i have this weird feeling he is going to retire from singles by the end of 2026 and will play remaining couple of years in doubles preparing himself for that gold medal in doubles or mixed doubles at 2028 summer olympics...

Yes, 2026 then for sure he will reach.

even this record, as many others, is asterisked, so if he manage to do it despite AO22*, W20* and USO20*/22* so it will be just more impressive.

That's a very unlikely and nearly impossible scenario, because he won't travel around for 2 years just to play doubles and there's also not much to prepare for, because he would need a decent partner from his own country to even have a chance.

He already said his goal is to compete in LA 2028, but in singles of course.

If he pushes his career to 40, he will. I think more important goal is 110 titles.

I think people underestimate his age. While FO/Wimbledon is pretty much a wrap unless his form suddenly drops significantly AO is a 50/50 shot and USO is a long shot. At the AO he basically has to reach the final in 2025, cause if not he'll have to win matches in 2026 at the age of 39. At the USO he pretty much needs two SF appeareances or else he'll have to keep competing in 2026 at near 40.

Federer played great in 2019 and then his form fell off of a clif, same for Nadal in 2022 while younger. There's a reason even the GOATs can't keep playing at such a high level beyond 37/38, Djokovic is playing on borrowed time now.

Djokovic is entering the Federer post 2017 phase just now. Fed played 2 more years high level.
Djokovic just needs to be healthier than Federer in those years. Very easy. Djokovic does not have huge injury scares.

Novak is my all time favorite player, but you cannot asterisk USO 20. 100% his fault, he made a mistake, nobody is perfect

Yes you are 100% correct

While I don't use that result as a loss because he obviously was unbearable in 2020, his default I agree. He is not perfect human and makes many mistakes

Nadal has 77, 112, 58 and 67 wins at the majors.

Fed has 102, 73, 105, and 89

Biggest surprise to me is Federer is ahead of Djokovic in Australia in total wins.

lol no

He wants to be the first/best at everything so there is no stopping. He wants to win Slams in his 40s, this is late-stage Tom Brady energy

It shouldn't be, simply, Roger has 2 more entries at AO. 9 more wins in next two years are doable for Novak to pass Roger down under...

AO was also Fed's most consistent Slam and I think his streak of SF+ appearances there is actually longer than anything Djoko has

He said that last year when he won 3/4 slams. However a lot changed and now this year while he has Olympic Gold in Bo3 he remains slamless until USO.

He'll go for it, you can bet your life on it, no doubt about that. Even winning 90+ at each one is incredible, those numbers will remain untouched for eternity, just amazing.

Those 90+ across all slams are true testament of unmatched versatility, accompanied by one of a kind longevity...

True, but he's likely to win the tournament, if not at least make the SF. A player who can make QF at all Grand Slams doesn't need to go anywhere.

Except for ATG’s and GOATs, QF while incredible for anyone else who wouldn’t retire while making them. is not good enough for Novak so when he gets knocked out in QF It is worse than anyone else.

There are 3, 4 others, but you seem to be the only one besides me who is bothered every day that Novak was denied these chances.

But you're also absolutely right. Without any reservation.

Perhaps. If the record is important to him.
Would not be surprised if The Djoker is not even aware of the 100 record.

You are,... Connors is currently leading the stat with 98, but be patient and hopefully next year we'll see the change on the top :)
Connors is the only player I officially like more than Novak. And I like Novak more than any other fan!

The player I like least is Federer, then Hewitt. I only count the ones who were number 1.

Hey, easy there muchacho, I'm the biggest Nole fan! :)
I do share your opinion about Fed and to some extent Hewitt. Federer's tennis was admirable but it's his sense of entitlement and arrogance I couldn't stand.
