I've read that there is no ATP singles ranking points for 'dead Rubbers' at the Davis Cup. If Djokovic is still in the hunt for number 1 at the end of the WTF, then will he hope his Doubles team fails in the davis cup finals...so his last singles match can be a 'live rubber' that he can earn points for? (Assuming serbia wins the first two singles)

Funny, I was just discussing these scenaios with my Mrs, this morning...
He could request to play first 2 rubbers, back to back. Or his team mates could do him a favor and tank doubles, if needed. However, I think that Nole, as a true patriot, would want a scenario that gives Serbia most chances for the title.

I tend to agree. IMO, winning the DC means more to him than YE#1.
Anyone know which players are playing the first two singles rubbers?

Most likely it will be following on 1st day (Friday):
Djokovic - Stepanek
Berdych - Tipsarevic
The draw will determine which match will be played first.
Than doubles on Saturday and than:
1st match on Sunday will be
Djokovic - Berdych (best players play first on Sunday)
and second will be:
Tipsarevic - Stepanek.
So unless Tipsa beat Berdych, it will we two live rubbers for Djokovic regardless of the draw.

Tipsy will likely lose to Berdych anyway. So the best scenario is Serbia will be ahead 2-1 after two days and Djokovic beats Berdych in first match on Sunday to clinch the DC title and YE #1.
