Will Eagnas PN-1012 swivel clamp work in Alpha Revo?

The swivel clamps for my Alpha Revo 4000 have been lost. Does anyone know if the Eagnas PN-1012 will drop in and work well with the Revo 4000? Or does anyone have any other recommendations for a swivel clamp for the Revo 4000? Thank you.

They have arrived and seem to fit well

The Eagnas PN-1012 swivel clamps have arrived and they appear to fit my Alpha Revo 4000 just fine. They look like good value for $40 each.

The posts are different diameters. I have both. I took my Eagnas clamps to a machinist and paid him to make and attach post to the PN 1012 heads to fit my Alpha machine. I use them only to string polyester strings now. After about 40 stringjobs, the Eagnas clamps wouldn't hold the multifiliment strings (they'd slip right through). They work great on poly's though. The Alpha clamps work with both, but poly's are hard enough that they'll eventually wear grooves in you clamps.

I would estimate my Eagnas clamp post to be no more than 0.10mm undersized, if at all. I believe this bit of slop will be completely eliminated with proper stringing technique--by slightly pulling on the clamp away from the tensioner while clamping. As for only lasting 40 string jobs with multi or nylon strings, that would be a bummer if true. The clamp looks great to me. Plenty of surface area to grip the string and the adjustment knob seems to work well. I only use and only believe in Luxilon so it may be decades before I can get back to the forum on that issue. I will evaluate the Eagnas PN-1012 clamps in use sometime after I pick up a Wise tension head, perhaps in a week or two. If the previous poster has a caliper I would be interested to know the measured difference between Eagnas and Alpha swivel clamp posts.

Hi Steve: Although I have a different machine than yours, fortunately the Eagnas 3 tooth clamps fit my machine perfectly. I have used them for a good # of racquets so far, and so far they have been holding up. The only thing that ever bothered me was that when I received them, one was new, and one was very much used, as it was all marred up, and although both looked the same, the metal on the used one looks duller, and the adjustment wheel was a different ribbing on the end from the other one and the used one adj. wheel is chrome plated,and marked up. One must be from an older stock, that someone probably used and marred it up, and returned, and I ended up with it. Because of poor cust. service that I always heard about, I just decided to use them anyways, and never had a problem with slipping, and have used them a decent amount so far, I use the 5 tooth clamps that came with machine for 16g, and the 3 tooth for 17g. I mark the wheel with a sharpie line on the top of the adjustment wheels on both sets of clamps, so I know where the clamp should be set for the most part(I know some strings can be a little different, but this does work) . The line also allows me to see if the adjustment wheel moves at all, as it sometimes can(on both sets of clamps), and I just be sure that the line is always on the top.Anyways the eagnas clamps I received have held up so far.They get used primarily with polys, as I have more 17g. with that type of string.
After reading this post,I took out the 3 tooth, and adjusted for the 16g. for a string job of all VS gut, and just finished it now, and the clamps worked fine.(This was my 6th all VS gut job this week! Very unusual for me to get this many all gut jobs in 1 week, as someone just dropped off this one this morning to make # 6 in 1 week). Possibly you got an older series type clamp that caused them to slip after so much use, but these are going ok for me so far.If they do start to give problems, I'll let you know.

OK, Jim, I am still on my first cup of coffee so I hope this does not come off as a completely dumb question. Are you using the 3-tooth and 5-tooth for different gauge strings to eliminate having to do too much adjusting, or for some other reason?

The reason I ask is because when I purchased my SP DG I went with upgraded clamps (same as Aria and Opus and the same as the current DG). Since the upgrade involved the straight purchase of the 3-tooth, I still have the 5-tooth clamps that came with the DG back then. I've been keeping them as back-ups.

Yes, I use the 3 tooth most of the time for 17g. and the 5 tooth for 16g. I know that some strings are a little different thickness within the same gauge range, but this seems to work well for me.
I also mark the top of the adj. wheel with a little line (sharpie used), that way if I ever move the adjustment wheel, it can go back to the usual setting, and it is also a visual to be sure that the adjustment wheel does not move on me, which it does ever so slightly from being used.If you mark the adjust. knob, you may be surprised that it will move over time with use, and can effect how well it will hold.
My machine came with the 5 tooth clamps, and I wanted to try a 3 tooth, and the eagnas was cheap enough, after a while I used each for a different gauge.To be honest, I prefer the 5 tooth clamp. No apparent reason, I just like it better.

Just want to share my experience...even though there were mixed answers in this thread I went ahead and ordered a pair for my Revo...they do fit, but rather loosely (too loose then I was comfortable with), there was a lot of 'play' in the base clamp, definitely more than the stock Alpha clamps...and the quality was lacking but I suppose what would one expect at those prices...upon inspection the gripping surfaces/jaws did not line up perfectly parallel (for which there is no adjustment, unlike the stock Alpha clamps) and the teeth really don't appear to be diamond dust coated, but rather they seem to be bead/sand blasted...also the posts were (for lack of a better term) 'lumpy', they were not perfectly machined round like my stock Alpha clamps, nor were both the same diameter (I did a measurement at the time with a digital caliper but did not record the measurements)...so I ended up returning them and took a 15% restocking hit...lesson learned. I hope this helps someone else out.

Now the Alpha clamps aren't perfect either, during each stick I restring, I find that the clamps do come out of parallel alignment for which I have to 'watchout' for and adjust accordingly...and even though I do keep them lubed (TriFlow syn gease) one of my clamps has what I can best describe as a 'rough' action...anyone else have these problems?
