Will Federer ever lose with grace?

Coming from the Southest US, I am glad that people here that are not from humid areas are understanding the heat vs humidity issue. Heat ain't s&^t!!!!!!!!!!!!! At 48, I can play several sets in 95 degree weather where the hudidity is low. Get it up around 70% and more and you have a different climate altogether.Years ago I had a guy in an LA bank look at my ID and actually say, "you from North Carolina, aren't used to this heat are you?". I looked at him and said "dude, here it is 90 degrees with low humidity and I am comfortable wearing long pants...where I come from it is 100 degrees and 80% humidity, you have no idea what real heat is". He looked puzzled and cashed my check. And no, Australia does not usually have the humidity of the Southeast US. Hot as hell but the humidity makes ALL the difference. New York just GOT SOME. And so did Fed.

In other words the USO didn't bend over backwards to make sure Fed had perfect conditions like at the AO ? :D

That is right. And FWIW, one of the hottest most miserable matches I have ever played was indoors with no air circulation. Brutal. Don't get me wrong, I feel for these guys having to compete in this humidity...but Millman (spelling..my bad) was outstanding from midway through the second set on. Seemed to just relish in the heat and really push Roger back.

As an aside, I have no idea what is in Rafa's drink, but I want some. What the hell??

Did he lie saying that the weather and court conditions made it harder for him ? No
Did he credit his opponent's win ? Yes

Another thing not to forget, last year in the final of Montreal when he lost to A.Zverev, after the handshake he was asked by Zverev if there is something wrong with his back and he just replied something like " No, everything's fine, you played great ".
He gave credit to Zverev eventhough it was obvious there is something wrong with his body, and we all know what happened after that.

It’s funny when I play with my team or against other teams there’s always someone complaining about lights or the sun or the shade or the balls.

'Few times' is plural so it's possible to have more than one but you can't have more than one 'first time'.
But he said it in plural (according to the transcript here). You do not need the word "few" for it to be plural. Nor does the word "the" mean that it is not plural. You can very well say "The first five times I did it, etc...".

You are re-writing what Fed said. These were his exact words: “It's one of the first times it's happened to me." There can only be one first time.

I think it is hilarious when these threads bash someones presser. Look he isnt giving some sort of statement. He is answering the questions being asked. What would you have him do? If he deflects and just credits Millman without addressing the fact he was clearly off, and it was discussed in the broadcast in real time he would be killed for not answering the questions or hiding something. The players cannot win.

Yes and what we have established here is that you can mention the first times you do or experience something in plural, so you don't have a point.
