I'm not watching GoT, but I see it's on it's last seaon and there are 3 more episodes left.

The GoT writers have stated that they are aiming for BB levels of epicness when it comes to the ending - https://uproxx.com/hitfix/game-of-thrones-ending-season-8/

Those who have watched the final episodes (part 2 of season 5, a.k.a. 5B) of BB remember just how amazing it was. Truly mind-blowing, once in a lifetime experience. Adding to that - one of the greatest final episodes ever. For those who haven't, you may want to see the episodes or at least check out the ratings - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903747/episodes?ref_=tt_ov_epl

What do you think?

It may not be a finale, because they are planning to do spinoffs. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.

Unless there is some huge shock surprise on who ends up on the Iron Throne I think the episode will disappoint. It will be tough for Dany or Jon to be put on the throne ( odds its one of them two are high) in a way that makes it entertaining.

If I get a Jon Snow heel turn in cahoots with Cersei and Tyrion ala Hulk Hogan when the original NWO was formed it will be worth it. But that aint gonna happen. but maybe it does. That why I read the articles written about it.

I think the finale will be good Lord Of The Thrones but Breaking Bad will be better! Fantasy vs. Gangster!

It could be on a similar level i suppose. Basically they just tied up all the plot lines in Felina. It wasn't an extra ordinary ending imo. Say like 'six feet under' where the finale was on another level to the show.
Breaking Bad isn't really memeroble for its conclusion , it had better sequences/episodes earlier in the series that could make anything a finale can offer pale in comparision.

Well said, I've been rewatching Breaking Bad and some of the things I missed were just wow. The writing is stupendous. It's a show I can rewatch and find 5-6 brand new little nuanced things. And every re-watch I seem to have a different favorite character based on how my own life has changed since the last re-watch.

I really enjoy GoT, but just given the inherent differences (Breaking Bad is something that could logically albeit in a less sensationalist way happen IRL to an extent). A lot of the little lessons in BB can be applied out in the real world.

GoT has more fans than BB and a lot of fan theories ruining whatever the series try to do.
They can ended up as far fetch as they can and it's still already covered by fan theory.

I think you make a very valid point here. When Breaking Bad started, it didn't really have as big of a cult following. I don't think I watched any of it live until the final season. They got to operate under the radar to an extent and end it the way they wanted to.

Game of Thrones have become victims of its own success a bit. The hype is so high that there's just no ending that can live up to it. A real catch 22. It's a good problem to have though.

Breaking Bad ending surpassed the overall quality of the final couple of seasons. Tied it up very nicely with a good tune. I still think Sopranos is the very top of the mythical list.

Have not watched game of thrones.

Agreed on the nuanced things part. :)
My favourite was the season 4 ending, End times and Face-off. Can pick a lot of details on second viewing once you knew who poisoned the child.

I like the pink bear from the crashed plane being in the painting above Jane's bed right near the end of her arc before her dad goes back to work and you know what happens.

I think Wire had a similar ending to BB. Both gave me the complete closure i wanted, for the story and the character arcs.
The send off for McNulty and Lester was just pure entertainment.

Hehe, for sure. And the busted up face on both the doll and Gus.

The Jane/Dad storyline is just heartbreaking to me. It's amazing how BB can even make you feel for the secondary characters. That is not easy at all to do. The entire penultimate episode of S2 is freaking fantastic.

I struggle rewatching those episodes a bit. Unfortunately in my high school graduating class opiates have been wiping people out left and right so it feels like a personal commentary on millennial obsession with illicit substances.

BB's ending was very satisfying. It could also be argued to be ridiculous as well - I mean why didn't the Nazis check WW's boot (Trunk for American posters)? GOT's ending will also have holes in it I am sure. But invested too much in it now, so as long as it's not truly rediculous like Bran waking up and it's all a dream (anyone remember Sunset Beach's ending).

Both will go down as my favourite shows no doubt, along with Frasier and The Simpsons (s.3-8) for American sitcom comedy. They have all set such high standards in tv, that it's gonna take something really special to follow them.

Hank's death was so sad for me. I tihnk he was the soul of the show, whereas Jesse was the heart and I was glad at least he escaped.

Badfinger were sent back in time. Hard to find a song that will match up perfectly with everything. Baby blue is that song.

Jane also got what she deserved. Ping.

Funny you say that as Hank is by far my favorite character as I rewatch.

Berserk is way better than Game of Thrones.
This scene alone eats for breakfast the series of HBO.
