Will Jannik Sinner win his first clay masters title this year?

Will he?

The super talented Italian player is currently 22-1 this season - with 3 titles - Australian, Rotterdam and Miami

Do you think he has what it takes to break through on clay?

His best result in clay masters was a Monte Carlo SF loss to Holger Rune where he played badly in front of a crowd that highly favored him and was booed shortly afterwards.

His best result in Rome was a QF where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets, and was the fan favorite, and was booed shortly afterwards.

Madrid has always been a failure tournament for him as he suffers greatly from Pollen Allergy

There have been many doubters about his ability on clay, but his point construction perhaps is the best in the world and he makes few unforced errors - which should translate to clay success. Also has the best baseline game on tour ATM.

Do you think he will avenge the fans with a title in either MC/Madrid/Rome?

Heck he could sweep clay season for all we know LOL. A 50 year old won RG a last year. Med is now winning clay titles (pfftt..) , Nadal is a question mark, Djoker is already on his way out, Carlos is up and down like always

Yes he can, I do not see much competition. For sure he will gain a lot of points in this clay season since last year he was terrible

He can for sure, but he Will have to work much harder, hes not gonna have so many free points on serve, which have been his foundation since the start of the season

He makes little unforced errors compared to Carlos, you know that right?

I think it is likely Sinner at least reaches a clay Masters 1000 final. Whether he wins Monte Carlo, Madrid, or Rome is more of a toss-up.

He does have the name disadvantage against his likely biggest threat at Monte Carlo. :giggle:

He currently has the best baseline game in the world. I would think it's very very likely that he wins at least one Masters title on clay. Gone are the days of Nadal dominating the surface.

He was not booed in either of those matches, other than perhaps on this forum.

MC was painful, as he was absolutely demolishing Rune before the rain interruption. At the time, it really felt like his first Masters title would come right then and there...

Anyways, I am certain he will EVENTUALLY win big on the clay as well. Does he take one of the FIVE big clay titles up for grabs this year? I think I know the answer, but as usual I won't say it.

You didn’t watch the match. He was booed

Yes he will get one this year. He’s been pushing the envelope for months now, and next up is raising his game on the clay. Rome would be epic.

Sinner's currently the best bet for winning a number of slams on all surfaces. He's beaten Novak more than anyone else recently, and has improved his serve and net game. No glaring weaknesses in any area such as zverev fh and meddy ros position.
Only blip is he's lost a few matches to Carlos that he should have won, but I think he will eventually reverse that matchup as well.
