Nadal hasn't won a non-clay event for a year and a half now. Will he be able to win one until the clay next year and which one(s)?

Olympics
Toronto
Cincinnati
USO
Shanghai
Tokyo
Bercy
WTF
Doha
Australian open
Indian wells
Miami

Any predictions?

P.s. sorry about the title. iPhone. Nuff said

Troll thread.

Troll calling a thread Troll :-?

BTW his best chance for this year is Olympics & USO if he doesn't win one of them then bye bye 2012.

About 2 yrs has passed without a non-clay title very long period for a top player considering the tennis calendar.

Who gonna stop Nadal at Tokyo. Murray played lights outs the last two sets.

Olympics (Nadal lost miserably early in both Halle and Wimbledon.....most likely the same will happen here)
Toronto (Depends on the draw like 2005 or hot form like 08)
Cincinnati ( Too fast for him)
USO ( Get to the final then 50 percent chance. Djokovic and Federer are the favs against him here)
Shanghai ( Federer and Djokovic might skip this one, can win this one....no mayer again).
Tokyo ( Win)
Bercy(skips this)
WTF(no chance....ay exho  )
Doha(win)
Australian open(win)
Indian wells (may win)
Miami(loses final again...poor rafa)

He may pull off a minor title but put Novak and Fed in the draw (both trying to end the year as #1) and more than likely he'll need to wait till the clay court season.. It will be his third season that he goes without a title outside of clay in his 8 year career. He's won 5 hardcourt master titles, 2 in which Roger did not play and only one with Novak, Roger, and Murray all in the draw.. The AO (the highest bouncing/slowest hardcourt on the planet) is traditionally his best bet.. But with Novak, who beat him not playing his best this year in the mix, and Fed not being a threat to Novak on that surface, chances look slim.. No chance in hell from now to the AO will he pick up a title in a major event.. Looking really unlikely.... How this guy is even remotely a GOAT candidate is beyond me. Give him 13 RG titles to tie the current 17 and he's not the GOAT in most peoples eyes with his resume.

I don't think it's a troll thread. I think it's a legitimate question and I think the answer is that he might not win one of them. I think that Nadal is starting become content with dominating the clay season, having a go at the slams, ignoring everything else after Wimby (besides the USO), and fishing more in Mallorca.

The Dodig Disaster of last August combined with worse match I've ever seen Nadal play, Verdasco at Cincy (even though he won), I think gave him a false sense that all he really has to do is show up at the slams these days and he'll make a big run. Perhaps, hopefully, Rosol disabused him of this mindset.

Maybe not completely, but the reason this thread was started is just to take the p*ss out of Nadal and his fans because he has gone so long without winning a non-clay title. It's as clear as can be to me.

He will win a minimum of 2 or 3. Don't be surprised if one of them happens to be a big one like USO or WTF.
He is now no.3, claiming injury again which means he will go and tear through the field playing without any pressure. Wait and watch.

You can stop your jinx attempts because he doesn't need your help to lose. Lol.

Slow hardcourt season

The slow hard court season runs for three months now -Jan, Feb, Mar. Hence, Nadal has lots of opportunities to win these tournaments that approach clay speeds and bounce.

I honestly don't see him winning anything until MC 2013. He can win it for the 9th time in a row, for all the tour cares.

^ Yeah, Tushy, Rafa;s too good not to win one or two non-clay events. At least.

Reminds me of the days when my dear fellow Rafans made threads pointing out that Fred had not one a Masters title in a year, even after he won a slam. Fred was then "only good for the easy BO5 events where you played every other day, no longer for the real BO3 events". Then suddenly he became "only good for BO3 mickey mouse events, no longer for BO5 which were the real things". :D

Speaking for this year, I'd wager USO is his best shot by far, last few years Nadal's performances in HC masters were pretty lackluster but when it comes to USO, the last time he lost before SF was 5 years ago and last 2 years he reached the final there.

Well, he was on a 5 finals streak at wimbledon if you don't count '09 in which he didn't participate, yet he lost in the 2nd round this year...

Yes but he had trouble in early rounds in Wimbledon every year basically, if you play with fire so many times you're gonna get burned eventually (even someone as mentally tough as Nadal is).

While when it comes to USO last two finals Nadal reached with minimum trouble, last year en route to the final he only lost a set to Murray (one of the best HC players on tour) in SF.
