31 to go.
Yes we can.
Just doing the math here, he's 30 right now with 16 slams. If he were to win 31 more slams consecutively, that would take almost 8 years!
Anyone think Rafa Nadal is going to play until he's 38?
If he played for another eight years... I think I'd have to reevaluate the nature of existence, itself. Some things are not meant to be. Then again, I thought he'd've been cooling out in Helsinki ages ago. So... ugh, please no.
I mean he is a freak of nature in a good way, but I can't see him playing to that age. I say 34 might be when he hangs it up, maybe 35.
He's Benjamin Button? I could have sworn he celebrated 30 alone after withdrawing from RG'16.
Nadal fans have calculated that if Fed can win two slams at 36, then Nadal is still a spring chicken at 31 and has five more slam winning years to go. At barely 2 slams a year, he does ten more.
With courts sloane down further and tailor made draws, another ten years of two to three slams per year is quite conservative thinking, if you ask me.
10 years later, I can honestly say: Buddy, I took care of that.
