Yes, but after Z ;-)
Today is the end of big 3 era, the day that showed that a slam win will not be possible anymore.

Yes - if both Alcaraz and Sinner somehow miraculously get upset by MUGS before he has to face them, and his own draw collapses. Think something like Nadal's 2017 US Open cakewalk. That's the only possible scenario in which Djokovic can win one last major.

Not sure if that is the most accurate example. Are you sure this Novak can win with the perceived relatively weaker draws of the US Open 2017 or Australian Open 2018? Those draws were still stronger than today's draws (excluding Sinneraz).

Do you think this version of Novak would beat that Del Potro from the USO 2017 that was crushing the forehand and beat Thiem and Federer back-to-back? Or that inspired Cilic of the AO 2018? Or the brutal Del Potro from Wimbledon 2018?

The way I see it, the field is probably less deep now than in 2017-2018. Apart from Sinner and Alcaraz, no one can challenge Novak (excluding Zverev at the AO thanks to Novak's injury). But if you put the inspired versions of Del Potro and CIlic from late 2017 and 2018 in today's era, I think there could be more potential challenges for Novak.

Now chance is almost nil. Us open he can lose to anybody.
Ao sinner will be unbeatable.
And next year he will be 39. Will lose .

Its like serena is her last years. Tried so hard but lost in semis or finals to a strong player
Similarly djokovic had to contend with sinner or alcaraz and the injury from playing in long matches

He could win one - if has to face ONLY Alcaraz and if someone else takes out Sinner. It is NOT probable, but certainly NOT impossible.
What truly is impossible is for Novak to beat BOTH Sinner and Alcaraz back to back - as he would have needed to do in F.O and wimbledon.
Novak has more success against Alcaraz, so he could hope for a Sinner upset or injury - so only Alcaraz remains. In that scenario, Novak can win #25.

Then hopefully Sinner will be Osaka and vanish soon.

Sad to say, but no.

His reaction to the ball is far too slow compared to his prime.
It affects his footwork badly—he struggles to reach the optimal contact point,
and even when he gets to the ball, he has a hard time executing the shot because he can't move the way he envisions.

Other players can take Sinner out for him.
Djokovic is getting older all the time. The things that he was talking about today in the post-match presser are only going to get worse as time goes on. On the odd day, he might turn the clock back 5-10 years, but those will get rarer and rarer.

He's never beating (uninjured) Sinner at a slam again. That much is clear. He's also never beating Alcaraz at RG or Wimbledon. So in order to win, Sinner needs to be upset/injured and if not on hard court, Alcaraz needs to be too.

Best chance for him now will probably be the Australian Open next year but it's very unlikely. I highly doubt Djokovic will still be playing after next year so he doesn't have many chances left. It's not impossible. He's still making deep runs. But at best it's very unlikely

It is also worth mentioning that at his age, Djokovic is going to struggle to sustain his level deep into the second week and avoid injury/fatigue. Even if he somehow avoids having to play Sinneraz, by the time he reaches the final he may not have the form to beat whoever made it from the other half of the draw

He needs a little help from the rest of the tour to clean up the draw for him and beat either Sinner or Alcaraz.

Also, he should drop his ranking so he faces them in the early rounds when his tank is full.

YES*

* - If someone else takes out Sinner or Alcaraz or both - then yes. Against Djokovic both find their superior mental games and obviously their physical games are top notch.

No is most likely.
If Sinner/Alcaraz are both injured in the next 6-12 months, it creates more options. But that is unlikely.

Just amazing what a career he has had and to think about 3 years ago it was him vs. the field for slam titles and everyone would choose him over the field.
The fact is he could probably make semis fairly regularly for the next 1-2 years.

no i doubt it. though i doubted him many times, and he proved me wrong every time. but i dont believe he will have a sampras uso 2022 moment.

Yes. All Novak needs to do is sit back and rest, because 6 weeks from now Sinner will be on crutches coming off consecutive 6 hour slam finals, and Carlos will lose to Nishikori.

Djoker is winning the USO. Book it.

He is still better than all of the player but 2. A scenario where 2 of these players get an unexpected upset or get injured is plausible, so why not?

I said no a long time ago, and I was called a hater. I am still saying no, and I see no reason to believe I was ever wrong, or ever will be wrong. In fact it is looking increasingly likely that I was right, despite being insulted for simply having an opinion.

He is getting older and worse as he gets older. He won't be better than all but 2 for long, no matter how utterly terrible (and to be clear it is a truly terrible field, which is the only reason we have the embarassment of a 38 year old even still hoping for slams) the field is.

Djokovic obviously but common sense prevails buddy. I respect sinner though and his time now.
Never seen Novak look as broken as he did in his pressers. He looked shell sshocked.he should.never have played today tbh. I did sort of suggest that yesterday. He isn't competitive v Sinner now and next time he faces Alcaraz he probably suffers a beatdown as well and it's not the way he wants to end his career...I've hated this sort of stuff happening to ATGs going back to the 80s. In hindsight he should have retired at Olympics last year.

No. Sinner and Alcaraz are both clearly better now and Draper and Shelton are dangerous for him now. Soon Arthur Fils and Holger Rune (if he gets his head straight) will also be dangerous. Right now, Djokovic has to get past both Sinner and Alcaraz in the semi's and finals's but soon he will face potential defeat in the quarters or even 16's. Too much for an aging Djokovic.

Simple question. Will the Serbian tennis legend ever win another Grand Slam title?

I don’t think so.

But if so I hope it’s not WB or the USO.

If he ties Fed in either of those slams it will hurt me so bad right in my FanBoi.

He just needs to avoid Sinner so why not. Alcaraz is known to fiddleF around with opponents at every tournament which will come back to bite him eventually. Sinner is far more consistent but he can have off days too where someone can upset him and shock him (See Dimitrov before tearing his booby). As great as Carlos and Jannick are, they don't have a vice grip on the tour like Fed and Nadal did. Something will open up for Djokovic somwhere in the next year or two. All he needs is an opening. and the rest of the tour sucks. So his opening doesn't even need to be that big LOL. As long as Djokovic keeps playing the slams, he'll be alright just on the odds alone. It may take a coaching overhaul but he'll probably get the job done at some point. He also will drop in the ranking so he will also be playing Alcaraz/Sinner in earlier rounds where his chances go up as he has more in the tank

The problem he has, by his own admission, is that age has caught up with him and his body now gives out over BO5. That is only going to get worse the older he gets. So the chances of him winning another slam are remote.
