Will Rafa get back to tennis if Alcaraz sweeps the year from here ?

Maybe would be too much to expect Nadal beating Alcaraz at RG in 2024.
Wouldn't be nice sight to see this boy humiliate and beat tennis legends in their late 30s.

If Rafa want to compete he will come, this is the best thing about big three, don't care if they loose in straight. They love tennis, see Murray is biggest example and so is Fed in 2021.
Novak fought so hard and even he knew that he will be destroyed by Carlos but that is what it is, he wants to play semi

I seriously doubt players above 30 and with over 1000 matches under their belt are playing for the love of the game.

If he gets pummeled in RG, his own house, don't you think ppl will start to talk ? All Slams are become insignificant, due to recency bias
A legend is playing on house money after age 37. Respect has already been earned. Nobody will judge you when you're losing frequently even on your best surface after 37. Nadal is a special attraction at this point and his name alone will bring sell out crowds who just want to see a living legend before he leaves the sport. Losing to younger players will do nothing to hurt his legacy.

How can a living legend like Nadal be humiliated when he's got 22 majors?
If Novak loses SF something tells me TTW narrative will not be like that:unsure:. But old, washed up, lucky mighty Carlos who took tennis to another level got injured &hasn't been born decade earlier..

OP I don't think Nadal turns back at high level of tennis in 2024, if he turns back at all. Screenplay must be maintained for sponsors

That will be wrong assessment by Novak haters, I really want him to win but I think Novak will be overpowered by Carlos on his weakest surface.

Bro, Nadal is like 600-3 on Chatrier lol. At the very worst he will end up with 4 losses at a slam he played for almost 2 decades. No one else in history will ever be able to say that.
Bro, you know that ppl are questioning big 3 even now how would they cope vs Alcaraz who isn't even peaked yet

Nadal is too old and broken. His face currently resembles ronaldo nazario in terms of fatnesss. I am not sure that Nadal can return to a level which can beat Alcaraz. That ship has sailed probably, it will require a lot of effort from Nadal to turn back years and maybe the body won't allow that.

There is a good chance that 14 french opens will not become 15.

It depends whether The Alcaraz news would be delivered to The Nadal via Finland post office.

Bull's forehand can still cause problems for Alcaraz once he is fit, however Nadal has no speed left and his endurance is also in doubt, so that can be a big problem which he cannot solve.

Next year Nadal will begin his farewell tour, possibly on clay & Wim. He doesn't have to win anything. So how Carl plays has nothing to do with it.

Then you will celebrate. However, it will be short lived as you will be a nervous wreck at Wimbledon again. Djoko will keep going and putting you on edge until 23 happens! ;)
Lol no. Nothing Novak can do on this dead tour will make him any greater to me :D especially on a surface no one can play on.

It doesn’t work like that buddy. If Novak wins 23 at Wimbledon or any other slam, then in your words “You kiss the ring” and your favourite will be officially relegated to 2nd greatest of all time and 2nd rate. ;)

You got to hope Carlos or someone else can stop him all year while your man can do nothing about the situation back in Mallorca.

I totally agree. I lost count of the posts and you right it would be insane numbers haha!

Novak is never going to be better than Nadal to me lol, whats his last truly impressive win? Hitman can call me all the names he wants, he knows no one cares if Novak beats Sinner at Wimbledon again :D ultronians will forever scrape, beg and plead for people to see what they see in rusty bones :p zzzzzz

Fair enough. We will leave it at that. They are both insanely good and had epic careers.

Just myself and other Djokovic fans had Nadal ahead when he had the slam record. There was no arguments from me. I hope Rafa fans will do same if it comes to pass but everyone entitled to their own view.

I will respect your opinion but agree to disagree ;)

Alcaraz isn’t winning Wimbledon and probably won’t defend the US open either if everyone is playing. Even if he does win RG. There’s much tougher competition on hards than clay and he isn’t ready to win on grass against all those big hitters

i would love to see Alcarez make rafa look like an old man and blow him out of the water Triple bagel

Right now the majority of tennis or sports fans who are genuinely neutral would have Novak ahead of Rafa and Roger, as his overall records easily eclipse the other two.

However even if he gets to 24 slams and finishes 2 ahead of Rafa and 4 ahead of Roger some famous will still never accept the obvious lol

I think Rafa has only 1 slam left in him at best and Novak maybe 2. However it may well be that neither will get another as just becoming harder with every passing slam

Don't try to cheat readers! You made this stupid assumption based on his post-surgery picture, where he is lying on a hospital coach. Your post #37:

Here is Rafa the day before his surgery (pictured at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre located at Sani Resort in Greece on June 1):

In the hospital pic his face definitely looks fat

Secondly when we are on medication for a long time then we automatically gain some fat as well due to the body's metabolism being affected, more rest, more food to recover etc etc , that is a side effect of taking antibiotics and other things.... this is a known fact

When you wrote in another thread a couple of days ago that "Rafa's face is looking like Ronaldo Nazario in this hospital pic" I thought you were joking. Now I understood that you made a serious stupid remark. o_O

There is nothing stupid about the remark, his face looks very fat in the hospital. If you dont think so then get your eyes checked, not everyone is as obsessed with a tennis player as you are. Why do you care if I feel he looks like nazario in the hospital ?

Speaking of being obsessed with a tennis player, you are an exemplary example of doing this - being obsessed with your beloved player Djoko.
As for your question, you can read the answer in my first reply to you: "Don't try to cheat readers!"
