Will the big 3 constantly be offered wild cards and big appearance fees which effectively prevents them from retiring?

I feel like this is what will happen. These 3 players drive so much of the ratings and popularity in the game and all the tournaments around the world know that. Nadal was supposedly given a $1.5 million appearance fee to play in Washington. I suspect Federer and Djokovic have also been given equal or greater sums than that. When these 3 players eventually drop down the rankings, it feels like all the tournaments will bribe them with wildcards and huge appearance fees to desperately get them to keep playing. They might still be playing in their 50's or 60's. What do you think?

I think a few embarrassing losses would end that practice.
Who wants to see a Fed with bad needs lose to Brooksby 6-4, 6-2?

The smarter play might be what Washington did with Gauff. Have Fed play Roddick before the DC final.
In a few years Nadal/Fed at Monte Carlo on Saturday night?
Then Djoker adds to the mix at some othe rclassic sight.

I'd advise not to do a senior tour but focus on Marquis Matches.

When you lose after accepting a bunch of them without ever winning they will soon stop being offered to you. I'm not convinced these dudes would be regularly going hard after them anyway. They don't strike me as the sort who would be interested in repeatedly going out there and getting their asses kicked to just help draw in the crowds. They all have enough money.

Yeah, I think tournaments would do it as long as it was financially profitable. But the big 3 would not do it. Murray won't do it much longer either.

Fed can play nothing else but Wimbledon for next five years. Not going to win it but always a threat to go to QF.

But what is the point? Is Fed that desperate for attention.

Its interesting to know that sponsors came up with the 1.5 million to get Rafa to Washington especially since total financial commitment by organizers is barely more then that.
Shows how strong marketing power of Rafa is.

Yes. The naysayers are greatly underestimating pride and how early draws are fixed.

Fed's Wimbledon draw was absolutely pampered for first 4 rounds and Murray got about the easiest first 2 rounds he could.

Historically this also isn't new for guys like Becker, Wilander, Edberg, Safin who had large gaps with ranking drops.

Agassi could have played 2 more editions of the big USO tournaments off WCs had he wanted.

I think whatever age Fed retires the other two might look at 1-2 years beyond.
