Just like the player Thiem aspires to be (Zeballos), he has beaten Nadal on clay before. However, unlike his big brother, it was not in a final.

He has now many suffered consecutive losses against Nadal. Will he ever beat him again in his career?

Yes, if nadal is still active as old as 35.

But the question is: When?

I'm not holding my breath for it to happen this year. ;)

A win eventually should be inevitable unless Thiem gets seriously injured and has to cut his career short...

He might do it this week you know, he for sure will once more. If he is playing well, Rafa has to play well too otherwise he'll lose

Yes I think he will. Rafa will not hold this level forever and Thiem is younger. Its logic to think it will happen, maybe even soon as Rafa has played a lot, maybe too much, lately.

Is this a serious question? Nadal was lucky with the biased scheduling last week in Madrid where he and a narrow escape. Thiem might very well beat him this week or in French Open. At this moment Nadal remains a favourite but Thiem will have his chances this year assuming they meet. As of next year he'll be beating him on regular basis, Thiem will make another progress and Nadal can only go downward from here on.

Something tells me Thiem will beat Nadal at the 2017 Rome Clay Masters.

It's just a hunch, but I'm not normally wrong on these things.

Will Nadal ever beat Thiem again? Seems almost as if the Einstein of Modern Tennis™ figured Rafa out today. Almost tempting to invoke words such as "expose", "false" and "dawn". Almost.

Can I vote with hindsight? Or am I supposed to vote as if the question was asked at this very moment?

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I think in both situations the answer is the same.

Congratulations, the 23yo beat the nearly 31yo as if that's a huge shocker.

yeah nadal has been **** all year on clay,no big deal,**** this win ,domi should have given up in the midle of the match. There s no point to this victory no matter how good rafa was this year on clay atleast,he is almost 31 so that makes it void.

Yes, but not at this next FO IMO if they do meet.
