Will this be it for the Pro Staff RF97?

Apart from the Roger Federer autograph, will this be it for the 340 gm prostaff? I really like this spec.

In my opinion it all depends how well sales can be sustained. It would be great to see the RF97 continue as a “legacy type”racquet. The last racquet to do so was obviously the Pro Staff 85. With the current trend of updating graphics and technology every 2-3 years this could be a very questionable future for the RF97. It’s interesting that no other player of significance on tour uses the frame. I think we will see what the future hold later this month after the Wilson sales meeting.

I think it will stick around for 1-2 more years. Structurally, it is not the same of the rest of the ProStaff line which incorporates 45 tech. Federer was/is so popular that sales should continue for a while. Besides, at that weight, the racquet has few competitors on the market - it is truly unique.

Dimitrov uses the RF97 apparently but with a 18x17 pattern instead. Still painted to the 97 v13 of course.

I’m sure they will run the last one that they already had in the pipeline then it will go extinct like the 90

depends how the sales are though the leaked catalog with the new ProStaffs in it had a new 100sq in PS with the same specs as the 97 which could be indicative of them trying to broaden the line a bit - but can certainly see it sticking around like the VCore Pro 330/Head Prestige etc... or as a Pro Labs racquet

That could be worldwide or the Japanese market only. After the US sales meeting this month we will know!
