Their injuries were too serious IMO.

I can't remember a single player who underwent hip surgery and got back to being at even 70% of his former self. One of the worst injuries a tennis player can have, especially in an era when modern technique enhances open stances.

Lets hope Murray does not

The almost end of the pusher era has been great

Djoker still trying to hang on to the past weakness

Murray and Wawrinka are different players. Murray’s been at the top of the game his whole career. He just knows how to win. I think he’ll get to top 10, never mind top 20.

Wawrinka on the other hand, seems a little more unlikely. I can’t see him winning any more slams, and he’s getting on a little...

Maybe that is true...
But without them, who will stop bulldozer on clay????
When have they stopped him when it it mattered? It took Almagro-level Nadal for Djokovic, who is a much better player than Murray/Waw, to finally beat him at RG. Murray? Muahahaha. Wawrinka? We saw what happened last year.

If you watched Andy against Nick and in Eastbourne, he's already back to 75% of his usual tennis. His fitness level looks to be a bit off and his movement as well, but if he can get back to even 85% of his former level, he could be top 10 with this pathetic next Gen.

You are judging his level based on a match where the opponent was intentionally trying to lose throughout the entire match?

Muggy was so bad first round Nick was unable to tank hard enough.

RG is not the only clay tournament
Djok has been giving nadal a hard time on clay including RG from long time
And murray has beaten him twice 2015-16 Madrid F-SF (2016 level of claydal was higher than 2015)
And for wawa, he was exhausted and injured in that final, it was only *stan*. The 2014-16 *stanimal* would have dragged the match to a decider.....

Lol.Even if Murray returns to form he wont be able to stop Nadal on clay.Djokovic is different case though

At that level Slams are the be all end all. I don't really care that much about M1000, nor do I think Nadal or Djokovic do either. Sure, it's nice to win them, but it's mostly prep.

Wawa doesn't stand a good chance against a decent Nadal on clay, nor does Murray. It is what it is. The only one to ever threaten Nadal when it mattered was Djokovic, and even he failed and had to wait for Nadal to have a terrible year to take him out when it mattered.

They say that Wawa-Murygoat RG 17 will be remembered as the only tennis match in history that had the rare privilege to simultaneously kill two tennis careers.

He went from no games at all to 4-6, 4-6 in two weeks against Edmund. He still has something left to show everyone.

I sadly can't see Stan getting anywhere near top form. He doesn't seem to be making any progress -losing easily to a player at the very start of his own comeback from serious injury is not a good sign at all.

I think it's a great shame - he brings something very distinctive to the tour.
