I'd like to see Nadal win this one. He deserves it for being the comeback player of the year. Fed dominated the early HC season and Nadal dominated clay, but no one has dominated grass this year. The field is wide open at Wimby.

I am a Nadal fan, so obviously I want Nadal to win Wimbledon, but if we were to go with who 'deserves' the title, then other than Murray (by virtue of being the defending champ), Federer obviously deserves it most since he's done so well in the past few years, only to lose to the winner or the finalist.

Of course, if Stan wins, that would be great too, and kinda hilarious as he would have gotten his CGS and fourth slam before Murray.

Yes if only Federer doesn't win.

If Federer doesn't win, then as a fan
Novak winning is worse,
Nadal wining is a disaster

Stan/Murray winning is OK. So if Stan(or Murray) comes through till the final, we'll know who is facing him at the other side

I'd like to see Nadal get #16 first then Stan get #4 completing his CGS. Fed already has 18 and enough GS wins for his record to endure for maybe 25-50 years.

Tbh, Stan has already over-achieved with 3 slams, so let's not be greedy here. Bel19ve in No8!

I'd see how I felt if he got to the final, but because he's never done much on grass, right now it doesn't feel like he deserves to win it. If not one of the Big 4, and given the choice, I'd rather an up and coming player won than Stan.

Stan's game just isn't conducive to excelling on grass. I do like Stan, so I would prefer him to win than several others but I could write a fairly long list of people I would probably prefer to see lifting the trophy.

"Murray is my favorite player, but yes" looks like a strange option. I can't imagine any Murray fans to support Wawrinka here. His win will mean he is just the better player, and Murray's place in the big four will look irrelevant. (it already looks like that, but nevermind).

It seems impossible at the moment. But it would be some story. A player which many still call a journeyman, despite being a top 5 player for 3 consecutive years, winning 3 different slams beating #1 player in all finals. A player who has done so much incredible in just 3 years. A player who struggled to find his way to beating the top dogs, and eventually broke through - and became Big 4's biggest challenge, because they all know he can beat them on good days.

Since 2014:
3-4 against Djokovic (2-0 in slam finals)
2-7 against Federer (has only beaten him on clay)
2-2 against Murray (4-2 since 2013)
3-4 against Nadal (1-1 in slam finals)

Stan is underrated, if anything. A real contender.

Do you dislike Kyrgios the same sort of reasons as Roddick? :p
I am just not ready for having a tanking whiny giraffe that is closer to being a servebot than an entertaining baseliner in a Wimbledon final. Not a bad comparison with Roddick actually. Now having Wawrinka in the final doesn't sound bad at all. :D

Ha fair enough :D

I fancy Federer's chances against Wawrinka on grass so that wouldn't be so bad I guess ;)

4 guys in essentially the same generation all having a career grand slam? I can't see how anyone could not be happy about that if Stan were to win that calls themselves a fan of tennis.

It'd be great for Stan to get that career GS but I don't think it'll ever happen. I feel like it's going to elude him the rest of his career.

Federer is my favorite player, but yes. Don't see it happening though. Don't think Annacone can make a difference in such a short amount of time.
