Will you Nadal fans congratulate Djokovic if he wins AO

Bionic Poster
OK so since the draw came out for this year's Australian Open I've seen a lot of Nadal fans moaning and throwing their toys out the pram because they see it as unfair towards him and too easy for Djokovic. I know if Nadal should win the tournament I'll be one of the first to congratulate him given how tough his draw is as he will no doubt have deserved it and credit should be given. I always think being a good sport and staying classy at all times is the way forward rather than sour grapes and complaining afterwards. The way I see it is that if you win 7 best of 5 set matches you deserve the victory and let's not forget that Novak's not responsible for how the draw turned out. So I ask all you Nadal fans out there-will you congratulate Djokovic if he wins the tournament?

Probably not. I never congratulate any player except SOMETIMES Rafa. It's not like they can hear you lol. I don't expect any congratulations to Rafa from fans of other players, and I never whine about other plaeyrs winning. I think that's fair.

Btw, what is up with the confrontational and even offensive tone of your posts lately?.

Just because Nadal has potential for a tough 1st round match that doesn't mean his draw is hard:
1. Tomic is not that good or else he would be in top 50.
2. Tomic will be tired from playing full tournament this week including final tomorrow.
3. After 1st round Nadal will have a nobody in 2nd round and then I am sure bunch of upsets will clear up his draw real good as usual. I wouldn't be surprised if Novak ends up playing tougher opponents.

To answer OP, of course Nadal fans will not genuinely congratulate Novak and will instead come up with mix of excuses for why Nadal lost and accusations about Novak using PEDs.

Fair enough. I'm not so bothered if fans don't congratulate the opponent afterwards but when all the excuses start flowing for their player having lost it really winds me up but you're a good poster Crisstti so I don't expect to see that from you. In what way have I been offensive?

Will you Djokovic fans do the same for Nadal if he wins the AO?

Just check your OP here.

I congratulated Novak and his fans when he defeated the fisherman at the WTF.

I don't like losing, but I do congratulate my opponent when he defeats me. I see no reason why I wouldn't do it for a rival player if they defeat my fav player or win a big title.

Easy draw or not if Novak wins it, he'd have earned it.

I know some of you Nole fans are already dreaming of seeing your guy lift the trophy at Melbourne Park again after the draws came out. But wait! This story may have a different ending ;)

All this flak about "easy draws" will go out the window if Djokovic beats Nadal in the final. In that case, Djokovic will have earned their respect, whether the haters like it or not.

To be honest, my complaints about the draw on another thread were a little bit of trolling. Kind of a performance piece to make fun of the Djokotrolls for their constant whining about Nadal's draws.

If Djokovic wins the AO, he will have earned it, particularly if he has to go through Nadal in the final...

I will, I already did when he won the US Open in 2013 when I joined this forum. But then again we Djokovic fans are classy and not spasticated like the Nadal fans.

Fair play to you sam p. Posts like this are very nice to see[and sadly quite rare].

Of course I will congratulate Novak if he wins. I'm not gonna create a thread called "The match was on Rafa's racket" right after either, or use the draws as an excuse.

Again it's nice to see posts like this so kudos to you Crose-here's hoping for a great tournament. :)

Djokovic is only a best of 3 set player. I congratulate him on winning post-USO events. There is no slam to congratulate Djokovic on because he's done. Welcome to the Nadal AO era.

Nope, I'll sulk till RG when my hero Ralph loses to Noel again. Then I'll toss my pram out of my nursery window.

LoL very classy of you to call yourself classy. Not.
I always congratulate the player and even his fans when they win a tournament, whether it's Djokovic, Ferrer or Del Potro.

Exactly, good luck for the season, no? Only trolls and the butthurt care that much.

Yup. I can dislike a player but I don't forget my manners when they deserve to be congratulated. And I won't go around calling myself classy because of it and accuse others of not being one.

Will you Nadal fans congratulate Djokovic if he wins AO

Of course we will but why this question, are you a 9 years old girl ? :)

Your approval, Tipsa.

Change "if" to "when" and we'll start talking. There is no version of this where any other player comes out on top. Maybe Nadal finds some form, maybe Federer rewinds the time machine but it's all on them. Because if Djokovic cant save tennis, you can be damn sure he will avenge it.

how hard is it for you to understand?

but i guess you confuse facts and opinions often... sooooo!!!!

saying Nadal is worst number 1 of the history, compared to players like Rios Ferrero Rafter... if you call this an "opinion" or "facts" ...

It's his opinion. Not a fact. Neither is yours. Also not an insult. Deal with it.

now let me help you undestand the difference :

Statement 1 ~ "Nadal is a advil using monkey" - This is not a fact, it's indeed an insult, as he is not a simian. this kind of sentence would be condemnable and is ground for a ban according to the forum rules.

Statement 2 ~ "Nadal is the worst number one ever - not a fact either - just an opinion, albeit you disagree with it and also not an insult, since no injurious terms were used

Statement 3 ~ "Nadal was a client of Dr. Cotorro, a Sports Physician involed in doping scandals - This is a fact, it's not an opinion, also not a insult, albeit you would think so based on your own dogmatic love

did i help you?

The day Djokovic fans like Chico and 5555 admit that Rafa was the best player in 2013 and is the deserving number 1 and stop belittling him and his achievements, I will congratulate Djokovic if he wins the AO and his fans of course :)

And yeah, I forgot another poster - Sparrowhawk or Fyunck (his username on Wikipedia) who is pushing really hard to put Nadal and Djokovic as co-champions for 2013 on that site.

So it's the Djokovic fans who need to show some respect first.

LoL. I'd congratulate him if he wins it, not because some Djokovic fans asked me to but because that's the way I am.

And I don't care if Djokovic fans or Fed fans congratulate Nadal on his victories or not.

Honestly i didn't give a crap when Nadal haters didn"t congratulate Nadal for winning Montreal Cincinnati and US open.
But at least respect his achievements (i am talking about the well known haters on this board).

Now Djokovic fans want every user of this forum to congratulate their man if he wins the AO... haha, what else do you want... we save money and we buy you a Mercedes ?

I don't really care if no Nadal fans congratulate Novak. I would actually prefer it they don't.

I would respect Nadal's achievements if they were fair and square, like I respect his wins on FO 2005-2008, 2010, ... Sorry to say, but his big wins in 2013 were not fair and deserved and he was not the best player last year, IMO.
No one argues Nadal was the best player in 2008 and 2010, because he was indeed. That is all.

As a big Nadal fan I would definitely NOT congratulate Djokovic. AO 12 was very bad, very bad. 2014 would be very very very bad no?

I know your opnion about FO 2013 but why his win at the US open was not "fair and deserved" ?

You Nadal fans should be happy he's the world's best player going into AO. My favourite player Fed on the other hand got humiliated by his older rival Hewitt in Brisbane

We Fed fans are praying for one of Del Potro, Djokovic, Murray, Tomic to take down your guy because our god was never good enough to defeat the fisherman in hard court slams

Calm down! Perhaps congratulate was the wrong word but I'd like to think there would be at least be some Nadal fans on here who would give credit where it's due. Is that really too much to ask?

1/ Yes Chico said he agreed with OddJack so that's the same thing
2/ I already replied you about this in the other thread

Both OddJack and me explained clearly why we think so and that it is not based on the results. No need to beat the dead horse now, thanks. And yes there were double standards when Djokovic was mentioned in the same context as TMF pointed out.

I know your opnion about FO 2013 but why his win at the US open was not "fair and deserved" ?

Also my opinion about Nadal wins in FO, Montreal and USO are explained in detail in appropriate timely threads, so no need to repeat that once more.

Thanks.
