Men's World Champion - Novak Djokovic (SRB)
Novak Djokovic becomes Men’s World Champion for the fourth time after reclaiming the No. 1 ranking in 2014. The 27-year-old won his seventh Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, and was also a finalist at Roland Garros and semifinalist at the US Open. He won a total of seven titles during the year including the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals. Djokovic is one of only four men to be named World Champion four or more times, alongside Ivan Lendl, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer.

WOW, Nole for the 4th year in a row is men's world champion. Congrats champ :)

What a year two one slam winners (Djokovic and Serena)
are recognized as the best players... LOL

For me the prize shouldnt be delivered unless the player wins more than 1 slam...

About 2013: 5210 > 4010

ITF was right. Player who bombs out in two out of four slams can never be the best player of the year. And the tennis experts and officials rightfully recognized that.

Thank you very much.

Its about winning slams not about who made more runners up at slams..

Look at Sampras vs Lendl... Pete leads 14-8 in GS

Lendl has more GS finals, SF, slam apparitions, matches won, career titles... but nobody would claim he is the better player...

NAdal won 2 slams in 2013 vs 1 slam of djoker in the same year...
anyways ATP > ITF when It comes determining the player of the year.. ITF only has weight when it comes to davis cup and the touraments that are associated to them.

for the 4th time... that puts him in elite company with lendl, sampras and federer !
(and only sampras and federer had 4 straight years being ITf champion)

Is more travesty that the ITF awarded djokovic in 2013 being an one slam wonder that year.. compared to rafa that won 2 GS...

Djokovic only deserved the prize in 2011.

I don't think you understand how the ITF works. Are you saying they should only award players who win more than one slam? What about the years when there isn't a multi-slam winner?

Then there is no champion that year. Stan should have won it this year with 1 slam and DC Champion.

2013 was indeed controversial. Nadal was the only player to win 2 Slams that year and that should easily have made him ITF Player of the Year!

Djokovic only deserved the prize in 2011.

I wouldn't go that far. Djokovic did have the best Slam results (wins and finals) of any of the players in 2012 and 2014 and that justifies him getting the award for those 2 years. Only 2013 was dubious!

How come Fed was not given this award? I demand an investigation because he should get every award.

Mirka ordered him not to accept it, especially if it is unaccompanied by a cheque! She reckons he's got too many damn trophies already and she's having trouble finding space for them all!

Then there can be a dealbreaker made on other slam performance and achievement of other tournaments, etc...

But when you win 2 slams or more you have to be the best player of the year.. winning 2+ slams ina year is a quite special feeling you feel Its you year..

I mean he barely deserved it in 2012 and 2014

in 2014 both djokovic and Rafa made 1 W and 1 F in slams... the rest is not that relevant... Rafa was NUmber 1 the majority of the year....

in 2012 you had both nadal and murray with 1 W and 1 F... ok djokovic got 1 W and 2 F ... but murray won the Olympic gold medal.. etc..
they have been quite close years... FEderer was Number 1 in 2012 for a while, etc...

and even if you discuss the career outside slams... he was the only player to win double digit titles, 5 m1000 and even made it to the wtf final.
