Wilson 100 Ultra V3 vs Technifibre 295 RSL

I've been considering another racquet next to my Blade 104 v7. Something powerful , stiffer, light yet stable racquet.

I have settled upon Ultra V3 and and the brand new 295 RSL. What are your opinions on these? Any other racquets I should consider bedised Pure Drive?

Thanks

I was on the 295 RSL playtest, and it's a nice, stiff, light players' frame. If you want a crisp, light control racket in the 312g range, it's a good choice. I haven't hit the v3, but didn't like either of the first two versions of the Ultra - the Head Extreme and Yonex Ezone 100 to me are much better in the 318g tweener space. If you don't mind a little lead/tungsten tape tinkering, my current racket, the Volkl V-Feel V1 MP, which weighs 301g, at 318g plays better than any of them at a variety of balances, depending on where you put the tape. I actually prefer it stock to any of the above rackets - it punches above its weight for power and stability, but Volkl doesn't seem to do as much as it might to promote its products either on the pro tour or on this message board.

How did you come to choosing the Ultra? I'm not an expert on it but have had 3 demos of it pass through and I've seen all 3 people hit some of their weakest shots I've ever seen with poor depth. All eliminated the Ultra in the first day. Needs more weight and becomes too head heavy if leaded imo. Out of the 25 or so demos I've gone through these past few months this was the only racket that I repeatedly questioned why it exists.

Have you tried the clash? Plays much stiffer than the blade 104 if you actually swing at the ball. Have you tried increasing your tension if stiffer feel is what you desire? What are your issues with it? The blade 104 is great which is why I ask.

If you liked the 1st generation Juice...you will love the Ultra 100 v3...
It is a different racket than the Ultra v2...

I love the Blade 104, just want to add something different in to my collection. I have tried the Clash and sold it after trying the 104 V7. More power, plow and stability for me.
Interesting how you find the V3 weak in terms of power... Thick beam, stiff as hell a great recipe for power isnt it:)?

Yeah on paper definitely expected that to be the case aside from the low swing weight. Have you hit with it?

The V3 Ultra doesn't feel stiff... it's not a cannon..but has great power potential with proper swings... It's control is very good as well... I preferred the V3 over the pure drive and pure aero..

@A_Instead is right. It doesn’t feel stiff, it does feel brassy/metallic but not harsh. And it does have good control. I was expecting more power. Jury is still out on whether it makes my bag as the tweener of choice.
