Wilson Blade 100 V9 vs Head Gravity MP 2025

Hello, i testet a lot of rackets the last months.

Pure Aero 98 was nice, but somehow it was too hard too swing for me all day long.

I most like the Blade 100 v9 and also the Head Gravity MP 2025 !

What do you think about these 2 rackets and which racket would you take?

thanks

Doesn't matter what we think. Test the two back to back and pick the one that edges the other out based on criteria of serve, groundstrokes, volleys. If it's still a tie then pick the Gravity based on paint job alone.

Just test them out, what members have to say about those rackets doesn't, cause it is you hitting them.
Saying that, will mention one thing, if PA 98 is kinda demanding on a pyshical point of view, dont know if Gravity MP or Blade 100 V9 will 'fix' it. As the SW is more or less the same. Also keep in mind that Gravity and Blade are more on the controled spectrum off things. Access to power is clearly less.
In any case, both are great rackets.

Thanks, i think i need a bigger sweetspot. Pure Aero 98 is too small against big hitters. And on clay you have too much misshits.

Do you think that the Blade 100 v9 is better racket on clay? I am from germany and i need a little bit spin, kick serve for second serve.

If you have access to a demo program
I would demo:

Wilson Blade 100 V9 (out of interest)
Head Gravity MP (out of interest)
Babolat Pure Aero 100 (less demanding than the 98 and a lower SW+ you want spin)
Wilson Shift 99 (its Wilson's Spin line + 99 inch+ a SW that is lower than Pure Aero 98)
Yonex Vcore 98 (because of the shape of the head, sweetspot is enlarged, it's a spin racket and about the same SW as the Aero 100 and Shift 99
Head Speed MP or MPL depending on your prefered weight specs, as Head Speed is the most versitale line of Head, and honestly one of the most versitale rackets among all brands.

Blade hits heavier ball and is more stable. Gravity is easier to swing, has bigger sweetspot and easier spin but for me lacks a bit mass (at least in stock form). Which one is better depends on how you hit. Blade is better at driving through the ball, flat shots and genarally more attacking style, Gravity is better at brushing the ball and medium paced topspin game.

I still think the Speed MP is swiss army knife of tennis racquets that does everything well and if only one frame could be used by everyone, it would be the one.

Gravity MP needs a few grams of weight. It has higher twist weight than blade. Plenty stable with just a leather grip. Agree with everything else.

Any suggestions on ways to create a heavier topspin ball vs the medium topspin game you mentioned? I felt the same way in that Gravity mp is easier for more racquet head speed and feel but lacking in heavy spin…leather grip and/ or spin poly strings w lower tension help much or is a spin oriented racquet (aero, vcore, extreme) the only answer? Thx

That has to come from techniques not gears

I completely agree and have a great heavy topspin ball with my vcore 100 , just trying to recreate it with a more controlled / better feeling frame..so yes trying to cheat some with better”gears” while I continue to improve consistency etc

you can get the same D shaped hoop all the way to the neck / shaft
without the squared one found on Blade and Gravity

REACT MP PRO 99

It has slightly more power yet still buttery and stable with matched specs
to your needs no matter how many your order and recently discounted
The 18x19 pattern is so predictable and easy for redirecting and touch
volleys as well, great pocketing all in one unit.

Its sweet spot unlike Gravity is centered and more accurate on daily basis
its like the perfect racquet in that its suits so many styles of play.
This is one of the only racquets Ive tried in years which is like an extension
of your arm similar to my PT630 days but lighter and way less effort.

Next week i want to decide ...

I testet T-Fight 305S... nice feeling, but sweetspot is too small for my skill... and i am 4.0 -4.5 level
Double handed backhand is very nice, but forehand is really hard for me... i have to swing very quickly and have to aim the sweetspot perfecty to get power and also control...

So i think i need bigger sweetspot, 100 cm2 , but also control, because i am able to swing hard and i am very fit.

Thats why i come back to this thread.

I think the best rackets in my list are:

1) Wilson Blade 100 v9 (with Head Lynx Tour champagne ?)
or
2) Head Gravity MP 2025 (with Head Lynx Tour champagne?)

What do you think and which racket would you choose?

I dictate my game with forehand and play a double-handed backhand.

Which string for which racket?

Please help , thanks a lot

Or do you know another racket?
Babolats are all out of control for me...

Gravity has much bigger sweetspot and is easier to swing but lacks a bit of weight for agressive play. Hard to say which one you would like more. For me personally Head was to light and Blade to low powered.

Gravity MP with weighted handle plays perfectly. Far superior to Blade 100”

I know it’s personal preference but what’s your GMP setup? Weight added, strings etc. Still trying to dial mine in
I tested GMP for about 6 hours of play. I adjusted it to just 11 grams at the handle (inside the buttcap). With Mach-10 1.20, OG, and damper: 330g, 321mm, 322 SW. It felt incredibly solid, comfortable, excellent feel and had a good balance of power and control.

It was far superior to the Blade 100 V9, which, even with a similar setup, felt clumsy in the air, muted, and lacking in control.

How about arm comfort between these two? I have heard some comment on arm issues with the Blade v9.

I'm currently playing a PK Black Ace 300 (too flexible) and Ki Q+ Tour 300 (small sweet spot despite reducing string tension to 51x49).
