Wilson blade 98 (18x20)

The newest blade (BLACK) had a low power rating... i would like someone else review on this... the last blade i tried was the BLX BLADE 98 and that had loads of power.

Can anyone tell me from their own experience. how they felt the power on this frame with?

i used the black one 18x20 with alu rough 25/24kg. I also customized it up to 320g unstrung and an 32er balance

The blade 98 has a swing weight of around 330 -- that's very high, considering the average is closer to 315. When you swing it fast, you're getting a lot of power from it. But it's different power, not "free power" like a Pure Drive. If you slow your swing speed down, the ball won't travel as fast.

i love a fast ball :D

Not low powered IMO. Good balance of power and control. Balance is a bit off though. Too head heavy

Well I'll need to customize I guess. I like my frames head light. Weight in the head is okay since I put weight at 12 anyway.

I thought 18x20 was less power, more control?

If you like your racquets head light then just look elsewhere. Not worth trying to lead the butt of the frame. If you're okay with the balance and don't find it sluggish then you're fine with the Blades.

Compared to what? The 16/19 for sure.

I never okay with any racquet balance tho.

The balance of the Blade 18x20 felt nice. It did not feel sluggish. It had a plush and solid feel. All in all, I found the AI 98, TFight 325 and the Blade to be very similar to each other. Nice racquet for sure with nice control and power.

Can you compare the power to a racquet?

Is it high?

In what way would you say the AI 98 is similar to the Blade? I find the AI to be way more maneuverable and fast feeling as opposed to the Blade which felt very sluggish and hard to whip through contact because of the weight being centered towards the head.

How do you guys feel the string durability on this racquet is?

I have played with the blade 18x20 for the last year and half. Moving away from it to something head light and heavy like the prestige mid.
