Wilson Blade 98 v6 18x20 Question !

Hi guys !

I have two Wilson blade 98 v6 18x20 but there are differences between them. I'm afraid that one of them is a fake one, but i don't know which one is the real deal. If you guys can give me any help in advance I will thank you very very very much. I have included the pictures of the differences between the two racquets.

Thank you all !

P.S. One of them has the strings on, but the other one has none. The one without the strings has the perfect weight on it.

Why do you think something is wrong with either? I don't know anything about the v6 blade but look into posts on Wilson's quality control and look up threads on how to balance rackets to make them equal to each other. The new gen of their rackets come with large differences in swing weight.

I have Blade CV 18x20 myself.

I opened up the butt cap on mine and its all foam. Its been mentioned here that Wilson will sometimes inject silicone inside the handle to bring racquets up to spec.
The CV Blades have a matte/velvety paint job, which i think might be harder to copy.

As Yamin mentioned your issue might be the infamous QC at Wilson, been lucky myself, but many such experiences are shared on these forums.

I have three v6’s, two have all foam, one had the foam/silicone combination as you have pictured.

Both look real but have different production date, the (r) symbols above the Countervail symbols were absent on the earlier ones. Silicone in handle is used for weight correction (or pretending to try so) and can be there or absent. A fake will never have the rubbery paint and the laser cut writing.

Thank you all so much! I was a bit worried since this is the first time i bought two same racquet's, and I wanted to be both excaclty the same. @anarosevoli About this I was looking everywere on the web and nobody had the same question as I did. But your'e right, they might had different production dates since one of them is missing the ®

Like I said, Thank you all !

Update to my ISSUE !

I messured both racquets after having the string job and the racquet bought outside of tennis warehouse is shorter than the other one. Here are the pictures:

Anyone has have this issue before?

Im in contact with the seller im probably going to request a refund or something. Too bad a strung the racquet already.

Its probably just a little warped from the stringing and not short. Requesting a refund is pretty extreme. Looks like the guy sold you two good frames. Go hit balls with them.

As I said above, one was bought here on tennis warehouse the other one was bought from a legit seller from ****.

That's why I'm so worried about this racquet.

Literally everyone here verified both are real. Just go hit balls. I doubt there is a huge market out there for fake 2016 Blades.

@Christian Sotomayor
-yes, ive seen this personally on some of my wilson.k.blade sticks from years past
-could be multiple issues that caused the slight difference
-the thing i would ask myself, do they feel different?? chances are that the differences are so small that you wont notise
-if it does play different, then thats when i would take steps to modify the racquets, but only if it bothered me that much

Play with it for now and I suggest to measure the shorter one when it is ready for a new string job (once all mains and cross are cut).... just to make sure it could be the “bad” string job made it shorter.
I have bought quite a few used racquets lately and a few measured shorter than 27”..... so I cut the strings out and measured again.... they became 27” again8-B

Update from the seller:

"I’m just as worried as you are. As an employee at an authorized Wilson distributor, I’m dumbfounded by your pictures. Can you give me a couple days to see if Wilson has any good explanation beyond “factory error”? If they don’t have a good answer, I’ll take the return."

I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks.
