Wilson blade V7 frame deforming.

I have noticed my Wilson blade v7 18x20 frame is starting to deform to more of a circle. When I hold it next to other blades, the frame is less egg shape. Am I tripping or have other people had that happen. Holding it next to other racquets, it’s wider by almost a full beam. How is that possible?

you are eating shrooms, my dude. also, what tension are you stringing at? and who is the stringer?

Sounds like a string tension issue. Or maybe it's time for an eye exam?

My eyes are what noticed it. I don’t see why it’s so crazy to say that. When I hold the racquets up, the blade is more round that other blades I have. I am within the recommended tension. I don’t go above 58lbs.

It was just a joke bud.

Can you post pics so we can get a better idea of exactly what is going on? Also the strings that are currently in it and what tension they are at.

Could be how the racquet was mounted on the stringer and was not mounted properly....

edit - @Tjg - can you measure the length.... it should be less than 27”. If so, I’d have a word with your stringer. Lol

So by me telling you the person who strings it, you will be able to determine what exactly!
People are trying to help but you're not providing much information. I don't think he's asking for the specific name of your stringer, that's not going to do much. Are you stringing yourself? Maybe a friend, a pro shop, or some sporting goods store? You've got a higher tension in the mains so that may be contributing to it since you're squishing it vertically. Next time you hold your blade up to others ask them what their tensions are, maybe snap a pic and post it up.

It can easily deform that much based on string tension. This IS NOT a big deal. If one strings at different tensions - particularly if one varies tension between mains and crosses, you'll see deformation from round to more oval and vice versa. You'll even notice one racquet being a bit shorter because of the pull into a more round shape.

RELAX. No you're not imagining things. Yes, TW people are not often not well-informed.

I’ve had about the same tension on the racquet with several string jobs. Have never seen any other racquet do that

I just cut the strings out and it went back to normal.

So may have been just a bad string job. It happens.
I had natural guy in the mains and RPM power in the crosses. Hated the RPM power so I cut out the crosses and to try and put the Blast in to save the natural gut. Was the first time I tried that, turned out to be a bad idea. Lesson learned. Just re string it and it’s back to normal.

did you mount the racket before cutting the crosses?

Gut or syn gut in the mains keeps tension much better than polys. It may happen from the start when its strung or it may change shape as the poly loses tension. Then it will be rounder because the mains are much tighter than the poly crosses.

I tried to change the crosses without hitting out the mains, that’s why it deformed. After hitting all the strings out and re stringing it has stayed normal.
