what is a "trap door" on a butt cap? i have wilson racquets, and keep seeing that the butt cap is removable but don't know how to take it off. any suggestions? this would help me get lead into the handle right? help is appreciated!

On my Wilson rackets, if you have a tiny screwdriver or something, you can remove the "trap door" from the butt of the butt cap which opens it up.

It doesnt remove the whole butt cap though, just the "door", which is enough to stuff something inside of the handle, or attempt to put lead tape in.

(which incidently I just did on one my Wilson nSixTwo racquets. I was going to post here to see if anyone else has ever done that, rather than put it underneath the grip, or go thru the whole speal with the glue gun and the cotton, etc....)

ok, that is what i was assuming... but i did not have anything that could fit in that tiny little spot. but thanks for the help. i am planning on adding lead tape also.

I don't like to add lead tape just above the grip or put heat shrinking sleaves I prefer to add fishing weights with cotton (so the weights don't rattle inside the handle) inside the handle so I ALWAYS buy racquets with trap door buttcaps (Dunlops, Babolat Pure Series, some Wilsons)... For example I inserted 26g of lead inside the handles of my M-Fils to make them more head light...

i took off the trap door to find just enough room to get in about 8 grams of lead tape. the handle was full of foam, so i put it right on the inside of the trap door. it didn't move when i swung it so i hope it holds up when i hit balls! thanks for the help guys.
