Wilson Clash 100

Decided to give the Clash 100 a try. I absolutely love the performance. I am a 4.5 player and playing with the Clash is so much fun. However, I wonder if I have a defective frame.

I have it strung with Volkl Cyclone Tour 17g at 46 and it really vibrates and makes a weird tink sound when I hit is in the sweep spot area. Sometime it honestly sounds like a baseball off an aluminum bat. Is that just the Clash being a Clash? And yes, I always use a dampener and have tried many different dampeners to see if maybe it was a broken dampener.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I am at 42..no issues if strung on a good electronic constant pull machine..
And some strings do sound bazar even with dampener... vibration frequency is very noticeable in the clash line..

What string are you playing with? How many hours are you getting when you start off at 42.

I string my racquets on my Prince NEOS 1000 with a Wise 2086.

Indefinitely..it only goes down Aprox 2lbs.. after break in..
I use pro's pro red Devil, pros pro Black force..and at times solinico hyper g .

I use a clash 100 Pro with Cyclone Tour in the 16g, and the string starts to do that at about 4-5h hitting.

I tinker with the same racket and am a 64 y.o. doubs. player. I get the same weird sound. If you want a bizarre reference, I remember my old Prince 110 ceramic made the same sound when I hit it just right.
I string mine in the upper 50s with no prob. Solinco confidential.
IT is actually a little too powerful for my tastes sometimes.
