Wilson Extreme syn gut question

drop shot

Rookie
I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Prince syn gut and came across Wilson extreme syn gut. If any uses or has used this string, how did it compare to Prince syn gut? The reviews at TW seemed favorable overall and I have a friend who loves it. I tried a reel of Technifibres syn gut and it seemed to have a slick texture and it was a little too soft for my liking, almost identical to Klippermates cheaper syn gut. What are your personal reviews of Wilson syn gut extreme? Thanks in advance!

IMO it's pretty garbagy, very elastic, but not resilient, plays muted, doesn't give good feedback on the ball. You might try Wilson Stamina, which i feel is perhaps a SLIGHTLY more durable PSGw/DF equivalent. The Wilson Extreme Syn gut is SUPER easy to string up, though.

I have a client who loves it and gets it restrung every year, whether he needs to or not(ha-ha), he never breaks it. I've been trying to convince him to restring a little more often. He's a 4.0 or better player who plays 2-3 times a week with a Wilson 2.7 Hammer @65lbs. Course my stringmeter shows after a year the tension has dropped about 10-12 lbs.

I used to use it and liked it and is one of the better inexpensive strings around, IMO. Still stock 2-3 sets on a regular basis.

How does Wilson Extreme Synthetic Gut compare to Stamina, Sensation and NXT? By the way, can you get NXT on a reel?

I used it....

It´s good... it´s like these cheap syn. gut out there. I used it for two months and then started to use it on a hybrid with babollat duralast on the mains.

For me this syn gut lasts about 2.5 hours.

Pick some and give a try.

cheers.

It has more bite than the last two, and doesn't last as long as the Stamina. If not for the durability factor, it would be a good cheap string to recommend, because it also provides good power and touch/feel.

As it is, though, you'd have to prefer Gosen's Courier string over it.
