Wilson Federer DNA Collection 12 Pack Bag Black - Zipper defects

On your site and the Wilson site there are numerous complaints of the zippers breaking off this bag - even on brand new bags. Is Wilson planning on doing anything? I'm sure Roger would not be happy that his expensive fancy namesake bags are defective.

asifallasleep,

Yes, unfortunately this is a big concern around this bag.

When the bag first came out and I did the product video, I also noticed this and let Wilson know ASAP. They are very aware of the situation and are working on fixing this mistake moving forward. They had me emailing them constantly when the bag first launched, so I think just merely by wanting to shut me up they are fixing it ;)

From my conversations with them, they are working to re-vamp their bag line to make them better and even more functional.

Sorry about the zipper issue on that bag -- let me know if I can help guide you in a different direction to help find a solid bag,

Michelle, TW

Thanks Michelle, I'm glad for Wilson that they are addressing quality control for future purchases, but I'm wondering what they are doing to compensate purchasers of the current bag. It's clearly a defect and perhaps I need to do some research to contact all purchasers of this bag (at least in the US) who have had problems to see what legal action can be taken.

What's sad is that it perhaps may take the threat of legal action to get them to acknowledge the problem and to offer a resolution.. If they ignored all your emails it's clear they aren't going to do the right thing on their own.

asifallasleep,

Sorry if I wasn't clear -- when I first was aware of the problem, I instantly let Wilson know and they were very open and responsive to the feedback. We even had a conference call over the quality of the bags and they wanted me to continue to send them any issues that arose. So Wilson is definitely aware, has acknowledged the issue and has been proactive moving forward.

I can't speak for Wilson, but I would assume their R&D team looked into options of how to correct the issue, but the way the bag has been constructed, it doesn't seem to be an easy fix right away.

However, I do know Wilson is refunding any bag returned.

I don't think any legal action needs to be taken.

Did you purchase the bag from us? If you have purchased this bag from TW, give us a call and we will definitely help you out. Wilson is taking back any bag with a zipper issue, as are we. However, there are consumers who love the bag and want to keep it despite the zippers. Others have returned it and opted for other bags.

Hope that clears things up,

Michelle, TW

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the reply. My wife bought the bag locally as a gift. Wilson should offer replacement zippers IMO, that wouldn't be that difficult. I'm going to call Wilson directly. I actually really like the bag, except for the crappy zippers of course. I have other bags that have lasted over a decade with no issues at all. I now wonder if at some point in only a year or two if all the zippers on this Wilson bag will begin breaking.

Thanks for your help.
