Wilson Grip 4 3/8 with Pro overgrip = 4 1/2 without overgrip?

I have two K 6-1 Tours (grip size 4 3/8 ) with Wilson leather grips and Wilson Pro overgrips. I also have a K 6.1 Team (grip size 4 1/2) with a Wilson True Grip that came standard with the racket (no overgrip):

I had the 6.1 Team before I bought the two 6.1 Tours from an ex-Pro here.

My grip size technically speaking is 4 1/2 according to measurement.

The 6.1 tours were not available in any other grip size here (SA) so it was either get the two 4 3/8, or not get them at all. Since they were only 1 size down from my size I bought them.

As you can see from the photos I have added Wilson Pro overgrips - wrapped fairly tight - over the 6.1 Tours' Wilson leather grips.

Out of interest I decided to do a small exercise and measure the grips, since they all felt the same size in actual play, including the 6.1 Team.

I wrapped a piece of thick (wide) ribbon around the handles of my 6.1 Tours and then marked where the paper met on the handle. I then applied this to the 6.1 Team with the 4 1/2 grip, and the size of the grip all along the handle was identical to my 6.1 Tours at 4 3/8 grip size (with 1 Pro overgrip).

From reading these forums I thought that the addition of an overgrip did not push the grip size up by that much... but it appears by using one Pro overgrip on my 3/8 K6.1 Tours I have the exact same grip size as on my 4 1/2 K6.1 Team...

Anyone have any comments on this? As there appears to be not much between the Wilson grip sizes if a single overgrip can turn a 4 3/8 grip into exactly a 4 1/2. :-?

Your synthetic grip might also have compressed quite a bit over time with usage...which might explain this.
You did say the "team" is the older racquet....right ??

The difference of the leather and synthetic grip may have played a role. Unless Wilson's quality control is THAT BAD!

You wanna take that 6.1 Team off your hands for me??
