Wilson Juice 100

Hello all,

I am planning to buy another Wilson Juice 100 racket, but the racket I currently use is the old Wilson Juice 100 BLX racket that I've had for a couple of years. Is the new 2014 Wilson Juice all that different? I need to buy a backup racket because I recently broke my strings on my Juice and had to play a match with a teammate's random racket that was hard to play with.

Should I go ahead with buying the new 2014 Wilson Juice, or should I search around for an older version of the Juice?

Thanks!

The newer version is an improvement over the prior version, but I still had to add a little lead tape at 10 and 2 (about 3 grams total) to bring up the swingweight.

I don't agree. The new version is stiffer. I played with the Juice 100 and also did the switch this year. I had to sell the new rackets because of elbow pain. The specs are the same but the feel changed a lot. I used the same string setup and overgrip than the old versions. I never had elbow pain before. I played again with the old versions and the pain was gone.

The new Juice 100 is different: generally slightly more head heavy with a higher swing weight and the new "parallel drilling" does change the dynamics of the stringed response: for me, increase in power and a decrease in control. I prefer the older version as I have tried unsuccessfully (twice) to adapt to the newer version.
