Wilson nCodes & K Factors

Does anyone remember when the Wilson nCode first came out? Do you think Wilson's K Factor line will supplant the nCode family? Are the K Factors still descendants of the Pro Staff line or are they a whole new family of racquets?

Hers's the Truth

Very different frames even though the specs are similar. The more I use my K-kraptor the more I miss my N6.1.2 weeks so far with the K and have'nt enjoyed a single session. It lacks power.N6.1's have power less control The k is all control. If you have used a Team 18x20 then you will know the feeling.Still undecided if I will stack my bag with k-kraptors.For now I will still try to adapt to the less pace.I'm at a cross road more pace or control. My k has 60lbs wilson reflection on it and it sucks.Less tension will make these frames shine.Demo it you will see.

They launched approximately Sept. of 2005.

I would say the K's are more in the "tradition" of the ncodes than the pro staffs, at least according to playability, feel and composition.

I'm not sure they will supplant anything. My hope is that the K line will morph into a more "Pro Staff/classic/flexy/softer" line allowing the ncodes to meet the other end with a stiffer, firmer line.

BP, NoBad, Drak - what do you guys think? (Did you see me review of the K the other day as well?)

Ncode launched in Sept. 2005? I'm pretty sure Roger had one at Wimbledon in 2004. I believe he only won one Wimbledon with the Tour 90, so that leaves 3 more Wimbledon titles won with the nsix.

Golly - maybe it was '04 - I know I purchased one in the late Summer/Fall of the year it was released. Time flies I suppose...

EDIT: Yep, you are correct - it was '04. Thanks Stormholloway. Jet

nCodes were lauched in May '04 as Federer first started using his nCode 90 at the '04 French Open (although it was hard to find one at a store in the U.S. until late June of '04).
