Wilson NXT DUO 2 ?

DrumWizOHBD

Semi-Pro
I've got a set of NXT and a set of Adrenaline. Was about to string up my Yonex VCore tour 89 @low tension with the Adrenaline, as I've been enjoying full poly at lower tensions. But, perhaps I should give the NXT DUO 2 a try....

For those of you who have tried the NXT DUO, Any recommendations on which string to put in the mains? Or should I even bother?

I am a fairly hard hitter with lots of spin, play an all around game, serve and volley a lot. Durability is not a huge issue. I generally break synthetic gut in 2-3 sets. I prefer comfy poly setups or hybrids. My go-to setup in this frame is Gamma Moto Soft or Tour Bite Soft @ 54/50lb

I decided to try it both ways, one in each racquet. I'll report back with my findings, if any else has been curious about Wilson's NXT DUO II. I've been curious, due to it's lower price compared to Champion's choice. We'll see how it plays!

A little late with the reply, but I did take notes when I tested this hybrid. Thanks HONGO29 for "liking" this old post, it popped it back up in my alerts!
Overall, this setup was not bad. With Adrenaline Mains, felt quite firm, great control, not much spin/bite on the ball. Not much pocketing or feel, "boardy". Not near as plush or spin friendly as Champion's choice, also lacked pop. Felt about the same after 8 hours, felt like minimal tension loss, I cut it out, probably would have got another couple hours out of it.
With NXT in the Mains, feel was much better, Still lacked pop, but spin was much improved, pocketing felt better. Didn't have quite the snap-back, spin or power as Champion's choice. Felt like a lower powered firmer version of Champion's choice. I preferred the feel and spin I got from NXT mains, but this setup broke around the 5.5 hour mark for me. I hit with a lot of spin. Felt like it held tension pretty well after the first 20 minutes (NXT always stretches a bit right off the stringer during the first hit).

If I was set on using NXT as a Main string in a hybrid, I would try again with a more slippery and powerful cross, like ALU Power. I would probably prefer something like the new Volkl Power Fibre Pro, which has a nice added layer to improve control, durability, and resists abrasion.
