Was able to pick up a wilson sponsorship so im on the hunt to pick up a wilson racket.

Specs I am looking for in a racket:
-98-100 sq in. head size
-11.4-11.8 strung weight
-Open string pattern (16 x 19)

Several rackets have already caught my eye including:
-Blade 98 (16 x 19)
-Pro Staff 97
-Steam 99

Which of those three wilson sticks is the best?

I consider my self an aggressive baseliner.

Previously played with Prince Tour 100 16 x 18 and The head prestige pro microgel.

Which of those three wilson sticks is the best?

i use the Blade 98 16x19 i love it but after 2 hours of playing the high sw would be a problem then i read that the PS97 has less sw and more weight so i think it will be perfect for you.
Steam 99 is a good racquet but it´s problem is the stiffness!

Kind of hesitant to try a frame smaller than 98 sq in. but I might just give it a go.

The Microgel Prestige Pro is a true 95 square inch head size racquet, so you can handle such a head size. Anyways, a difference of 3 square inches is absolutely negligible IMO. Based on the racquets you liked, it seems that you prefer racquets with a lower stiffness rating, which is unfortunate for you as Wilson has removed most of these. A modded up Pro Staff 95 or Pro Staff 95S would be your best bet if you want to remain in the same ballpark in terms of feel.

Generally though the Pro Staff 97 seems to be the safest option for you if I only consider your stated preferences.

you mean you got a sponsorship from Wilson but they didn't let you test different models before you choose one? sorry but i just don't know how sponsorships work and i would be interested to know more.

Go talk to your coach and demo a bunch. Stop wasting your and our time.

If you have something else to do, don't post in this thread or don't even come to the boards.

About the racket, the six-one 95 should be worth a demo. It's one of the best rackets out there in my opinion. But of course it's not a 98-100 head. Then again, the difference between 95 and 98 is not as much as some think.

I think the 6.1 95s would be right up your alley. It is 11.5 strung with a 18x16 pattern. I was a little weary of it because of the string pattern but it hits a nice ball with good spin. Very manuverable because of the low weight but suprisingly still very stable. It does not have as much plow as the regular 6.1's but IMO it has enough. Don't think you will notice much difference between a 95" and 98" either.

They wont give you demos. I need to call the rep in order to place the order of my desired racquet

Everyone has been telling me the pro staff is worth the try. Apparently its very different so ill think ill give it a go. Ill go with the lighter version (non autograph). What makes you think id like the 95 and 95 s? btw: my prestige was 98 sq in.

afraid it may be too stiff, worth a demo though.

I would say me and Dolgopolov have a similar style of play and i know he uses this frame. Kinda what caught my eye with this frame to begin with. Definitely demoing and ill post back my opinions.

Trust the experience around here :) The Prestige Pro and Midpus are true 95 square inch racquets though Head markets them as 98 square inch racquets. I could even send you a pic of my IG and YT Prestige Pro on top of my Pro Staff 95 and you'll see that the head size is absolutely identical ;)

The Microgel Prestige Pro and the Prince Tour 100 16x18 are both very flexy sticks, in other words you can feel the flex and they have a soft, slightly muted feel. The other racquets mentioned here are much stiffer, less comfortable and have a crisper feel. The Pro Staff 95 and 95S however still have that plush feel you are accustomed to. The Pro Staff 95S would likely be more well suited to you since it is like a hybrid between a Tour 100 16x18 and a Prestige Pro in its traits (IMO), but offering more spin than either. String breakage would be the only issue with that frame. The regular Pro Staff 95 might be just a bit too low powered for you, even when modded to your preferred specs (see how much weight I had to add, most sticks end up above 12 oz). Anyways, you should add the Pro Staff 95S to your demo list, as it is plush, it has a large sweetspot, it has great control and spin and it has decent power, which can easily be increased with some slight modifications.

Out of the first few racquets you mentioned, I think it depends on the balance you like, and the swingweight. I've tried the 16x19 Blade 98, and preferred it to the regular one, but that may just be a matter of the strings (4g in the 16x19, RPM blast in the 18x20.)

I'd say the Pro Staff 95s is the best of Wilson's lighter 95-100" stuff right now, but I haven't tried the Pro staff 97. The Blades aren't headlight enough for my liking.

If you're going to go all the way to the six ones in weight, you may as well demo the RF autograph as well, because they swing very similarly (I say this as a long-time Six One 95 18x20 user.)

Careful, Dolgopolov is not playing a racket available in the retail market. He is playing the old PS95, possibly with a different string pattern now...but I think he went back to the standard 16/18
