Wilson "quality" control strikes again. I ordered new bumpers and grommets for my 16x19's and every package is labeled for the 16x19 but have the 18x20 grommets inside. Extremely frustrating. Luckily it hadn't removed my existing grommets (that need replaced) before I noticed.
Are they black grommets?

Just checking the piece that goes in the throat... six grommets you are good to go, eight grommets you have 18x20's. I'd be curious if yours are miss labeled as well.

lol same here. i just sold my UP v3s and here I am salivating at the thought of a presumably identical racquet just for the pj. novelty is a hell of a drug.

Never got to try the 16x19 yet, tried to buy one from you and was too late on @naturalexponent’s that were listed. I’m all in on the V4 if it has the chameleon paint and my discount code still works. Hahaha

I agree with that take. Still have one UT and one UP18
I just strung tighter, multi or gut crossed with element in both.
56/52 for 16m and 52/50 for 18m
i regret not going up higher when i strung mine. i also really hating cutting out strings before they break so im trying to just play through it
Little higher tension 3-5lbs for the 16M, depending on string. So I'm at 48-50lbs for all polys in the UP.
Also thicker guage, mostly for durability. But also tamps down the launch angle and more controllable power.
I haven't used an 18 or 19g string in my UP16 yet to see if or how quickly I could break it.

I am really loving the Ultra Pro 18x20. I’m playing my best tennis with this racket and it’s not close with most of my other rackets. The accuracy on my serve has been noticeably better. As to my forehand, I’m able to really swing out and still maintain really desirable depth. I’m guessing my strokes don’t have enough topspin, so the Pure Drive, Ezone xi 100, V Core and TF40 305 all require me to hit more guarded forehands.
I’m interested to see what different strings play like. I’ve currently got Razor Code 1.20 crossed with Natural Guts 1.25, but I’d like to see how a full bed of thinner and/or shaped poly plays.

Thin poly is the way to go in this frame.
My favorite string in my Ultra Tours was Luxilon Timo 1.10. Sadly it hasn't been made for years...

I've used Cyclone 1.15mm, Black Knight 1.18mm, MSV Co-Focus 1.18mm, and Weiss Cannon Red Ghost.

for me i liked head hawk touch 17g the most. going to try Xperience 17g next and tier one black knight 17g after that. i would like to use a string with good pop on it since the racquet itself is very low powered
new v4 ultras are being released next month apparently, not sure if the H19 will continue (cant think of any pros using it?) but i assume it will get the new paintjob if it does (Japan/Australia will potentially still get the Ultra Tour 95 in a new paintjob too I guess)
I assume so but I haven't seen anything - TW confirmed they were on the way next month in the Ask TW section.
I would expect a flat blue like the Clash but would be cool if it was maybe a blue/purple color shift or something like that
They have v4 grommets already, so probably

So far in my 18m, I’ve put some miles on a hybrid of Razor Code 125 (white) 50 lbs crossed with VS Touch 130 (black) 54 lbs. I’ve played some wonderful tennis with this setup. Serving as confidently as ever with this and finding my flat forehand and volleys to be precise. I’m just looking for a combo with either a few more rpms or a touch lower powered. This combo still has some life left. In my other UP, I’ve gone off the board with Mayami Big Spin in the mains and Alu Power 110 in the crosses. One hour of hitting has not yielded enough useful data.

They're quite a bit different.
I played with a Blade Pro 16x19, briefly but it wasn't my thing.
Powerful and I felt the stringbed could be a tad unpredictable. I also played it stock as the swingweights come in high on the Blade Pros. The Blade Pros are harder to customize unless you want a 335+ swingweight racquet.
Ultra Pro needs customization or it will feel underpowered and probably a bit unstable.
How much customization is up to you.
My Ultra Pro 16M has lead under the bumper and weighs about 320g unstrung and a 31cm balance. It plays great.
I also demoed the V8 Blade 18x20 (not pro) and it felt a tad anemic. Which makes sense because the swingweight is lower than the V7.

I believe someone somewhere said that the new colour will be that metal blue that then changes colours (chameleon-style... like the Blade).
Should be interesting.
TW customer service said the same thing. Due for August.

Does that mean TW will be carrying the new UPs? Or was that just with respect to the Ultra line generally? One of the things that's keeping me away from the pro labs stuff as my go-to/main is how unreliable Wilson is with respect to available stock, and lack of matching.
Ultra line drops for US Open. Ultra Pro remains a Wilson Pro Labs only product.

Talked to Wilson about v3 16x19 grommets, which I was sent 18x20. And so they said that was a glitch, and the v4 grommets likely wouldn’t fit the 16x19. I ordered them anyways praying it’s actually 16x19….nope. Still 18x20 grommets and labeled as 16m…ugh
