Wilson Pro Labs: Ultra Pro (16x19) Official Thread

Only the paintjob (some reviewers have said it was 1-2 points stiffer but that could easily be QC and slight manufacturing differences)

i'm suspecting that most folks who compare the previous version of a stick that's supposed to be identical to the new one other than the PJ aren't comparing two brand new sticks. same thing with the gravity pro. my theory is that the older one feels softer because it's been used more. take into account additional stringing, break-in, etc. and it makes sense the older one is typically softer.

I can't tell a difference between them, have owned both at same time and played side by side. As gold325 said, some reviewers said they were 1-2pts less flexible, but I don't believe that to be so. I've seen no measurements to indicate it is true.
i would think the UT would be more flexible simply from age

Also it is a good guy dressed in a bad guy clothes. Just looking like the Ultra v3 is enough to make the Ultra Pro v3 feel stiffer.... :-D

just saw an email from wilson saying the "fall into sports" sale ends tonight - anyone got a pulse on if the 50% off for the ultra 18 20 would end tonight?

Should be talking 18x20 for the discount, the 16m never went on sale. Even with only one grip size Wilson is confident they'll eventually sell, I guess.

Yeah thats what confused me. Who knows with Wilson anymore. I appreciate that they are selling these frames to the public at fair prices though, I think that is awesome. The Blade Pro and Ultra Pro are frames that people have been begging for for years now, so it is super cool that we can get them without paying some guy on String Forum $500.

yeah i kind of talk about both in this thread since we compare them a lot, and this seems to be the only active thread. the 18 20 was on such a huge sale that it was really tempting. it seems like it's the only of the pro labs racquets that doesn't sell out so i hope it'll be on sale again soon like that.
edit: only one except the 6.1

All good I will return the one showing up in a few days then. I already need one of these.

You have 30 days to return. Now that the sale is over you might find an interested party to buy it from you.

I'm sure offer the next few days someone will check up on the forum and realize they missed their shot at an $100 frame and have FOMO

Which is better, Prestige Pro 2021 (previous model MP) or Ultra Pro (18/20)? I was worried because the score of tw is high for Prestige Pro.

The Prestige Pro 2021 is pretty low powered and demanding. You could say the same thing about the UP but at least it starts light so you can customize to your liking. The flex feels pretty different, too. What attributes are you looking for when you ask which one is better?

I prefer the lower flex.

anyone know if mate pavic is using an h19 / ultra?
Yes

Yes

that's a really cool thread. idk why the 18 x 20 volleys so much better but it's very noticeable.

I have 20 sets of 16*19 grommets from a Wilson messed up order. If any one wants some hit me up.

Also, would like a 16*19 3/8 if anyone is interested.

Love the H19.

Trying to return or exchange. Wilson.com is being difficult. If they don’t accept I want to be able to get these to folks that want them.

Ask for a supervisor. Their CSRs are terrible, and none of them seem to know what they're doing. Dylan was the most helpful one I had, but even he led me astray but eventually got all my issues sorted.

i'm considering taking advantage of this sale to get another one of the pro labs racquets. i'm not looking for some magic wand, just want to have fun, and just try it out. if the racquets that are best for me are the ultra tour, the ultra pro, and the price graphite, would it make the most sense to try the 6.1 and not the blade?

I still have 6.1s and besides I had moved from them to 97A and S years ago, so this year I'm into 300g raquets.

I’ve been thinking the same thing, and thinking of getting the 6.1 also. I just want one, and I want it bc years ago I played a lot with the KFactor 6.1 16x18 before I moved to 18x20 frames. It would just be a cool stick to have I think

The automatic 20% off isn't happening anymore from what I can tell so it's a no from me now.

I contacted Wilson Germany (where I would have to order) about when they're expecting to have the V4 Ultra Pro 16x19 in stock. They're saying beginning of March. I'm assuming this is the same for the 18x20.
